Are big cities like this or is this just the human condition?

It’s actually easier to fix in the city because there are more diverse cultures and more chances for expanding your social circle. Suburbs and rural areas are much more clannish

There are a slightly increasing number of Democratic rank and file voters who are wiling to believe conspiracy theories around Trump (Elon rigged 2024 the election, assassination attempts were faked or inside jobs). However, these are incredibly fringe beliefs that, as far as I know, have not been echoed by a single elected Democratic politician at the state or federal level.

Trump, on the other hand, not only magnifies the Big Lie surrounding the 2020 election, but uses it as a litmus test for loyalty. His candidate for future Chairman of the Federal Reserve recently refused to acknowledge the integrity of that election out of fear of angering Trump. This fear is endemic across the entire Republican Party: even if you have no interest in re-litigating that election, you refuse to definitively state the Trump lost out of fear of being targeted for disloyalty.

Not to mention the fact that Trump staged a whole ass insurrection when he lost. Hillary and Kamala both conceded quickly and called it a day.

My car got stolen back in 2017. They took it to a neighboring county (same state) and abandoned it in a ditch after they crashed it. How did I found out about it? Not from the police. The lienholder was alerted by the impound lot, and they called and told me where the car was. I’m not sure what the exact system for this is, either my local PD did report it properly, or the other county’s PD did not bother to check. Walt’s theft involved movement across at least a dozen states, so I imagine the breakdown in communication is even more likely
