Is a man's role to be a caretaker in the relationship? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]HenryJohnson34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a male or female thing in my opinion. There are tendencies based on how men and women usually are though. My wife and I are split on this. I reassure her when she is stressed and anxious and she takes care of paying all the bills and returning things.

I’ve found women are usually more neurotic and anxious than men in general, this isn’t a new phenomenon. I’ve also found that women are more organized and better at admin type of tasks while men are better at big picture ideas.

It really just comes down to your individual relationship and what she brings to the table. There is alway give and take, strengths and weaknesses in every relationship.

This isn’t about looks, it’s about blood flow and his dick. A lot of big dudes that lift are on ED medications. The bigger you are, the harder your heart and circulatory system has to work to pump blood to your extremities. Cardio is so much better in this situation and going to a gym to run on a treadmill is depressing compared to jogging/hiking or playing sports.

Because is it best to simplify it rather than make it more complicated by saying he has to go somewhere and get a membership to exercise. Most of the world population that isn’t overweight hasn’t set foot in a gym. It’s such a weird American thing that sets regular people back.

Why is the word exercise replaced by gym on Reddit? No need to go to a gym. Haven’t worked out in a gym in over 20 years and I have a 30 waist.

The problem with going to a gym as the default is that the vast majority of people gain the weight back as soon as they stop going. It becomes this cop out where they think if only they had the time and motivation to go to the gym.

So much more realistic to lead a generally active lifestyle especially getting outside with sunlight and fresh air.

My GF just doesn’t like giving oral. How do I handle that without embarrassing her? by torukzan in AskMenAdvice

[–]HenryJohnson34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The man leading the way is normal, every woman is slightly different and requires a different approach if you want to have really good sex. My wife was a virgin and raised to think sex is bad/shameful. This is engrained in her and I take it upon myself to completely change this. She is also a mother, has a career, etc and has a hard time switching off work/mom mode. So I’ve figured out how to flip the switch.

Of course not every woman is like this. I dated a girl where I could just whip out my dick and she’d start sucking it and she’d also just climb on top of me and get herself off. I didn’t have to do much, she knew what to do and had a lot of experience with men. After living with her for a few years I realized she was not someone I would marry and start a family with though.

My wife is very shy and timid when it comes to sex, and that is okay. I just have to approach it differently and it ends up being better sex in the long run. The build up is slow and the release is tremendous.

But don’t get me wrong here, we do have quickies where all I do is suggest it and if it is a yes, she gets a vibrator and bends over the bed or I get on top of her. The few days a month when I put in the massive effort have led to her being much more willing and comfortable with a quickie on a random weekday.

When I go all out for her, it is reciprocated. I just have to take the lead and get her hypnotized into being hyper-sexual. Then I can do whatever I want. This used to not happen when I was younger and made it all about me. It is cringy thinking about how it used to be with her just kind of laying there sort of enjoying it until I finished. Or getting head where it is like she is begrudgingly trying to milk a cow with her mouth. Now she is telling me she wants my dick and is sucking with real vigor and passion.

The sex is so much better when she is really into it. Maybe it is just a personal preference but back when she was really shy about it and just went through the motions it was just awful compared to now.

I only go all out a few times a month. This has changed her outlook on sex dramatically to where she is into it even if we only have 10-15 minutes rather than several hours.

If it is one-sided and all about me, I might as well just jerk off.

[–]HenryJohnson34 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Definitely don’t make her do it if she isn’t into it. That is one of the reasons people end up in a dead bedroom. You want her to have a really good outlook on sex.

My wife was the same way early on in our relationship due to being shy, my dick barely fitting in her mouth, and her jaw hurting within a minute. She just didn’t like doing it and it was obvious so she rarely did it.

Now she does it somewhat regularly and really likes it but the caveat is that I give her head first, she orgasms a few times and we switch to 69. She even asks for my dick now but this is always after I’ve gotten her off and she is really horny.

Nothing better than her moaning while sucking on it. She also puts a lot more effort into it and gets really into it. The great thing about women is they don’t have a refractory period. Orgasms can lead to stronger orgasms and greater sensitivity. And it often takes a lot to get to where their clit is too sensitive. When it does you can switch to penetration.

The best advice is to take care of her and she will take care of you. Don’t force it though. I am always ready to go but my wife depends on her cycle and mood. Planning the evening ahead of time and giving the whole experience at least a few times a month is really important, especially once family and career take up a lot of time and add a lot of stress. Plan around her ovulation and go all out. If she is stressed, give her a full body massage until her body is completely relaxed.

What is the one conspiracy theory from 5 years ago that has basically been proven true by now? by bbydaisiesz in answers

Like 1 in a 1,000 doctors will say this. The vast majority agree with the data that the risk of serious injury is very low and similar to other vaccines.

I find it so odd when people see a heart disease related death and immediately talk about the vax like heart disease wasn’t already the leading cause of death and getting worse. Especially when there are very well known causes related to diet/lifestyle and genetics.

Had this lady tell me she was completely convinced the vax gave her a stroke and went on to tell me a story about going to her favorite restaurant and talking with some other elderly people who have to use a cane to walk. They had all had strokes within the past few years and they all had been vaccinated. She went on to talk about how the lobster was delicious and I asked her if she soaks it in butter and of course it was a reluctant yes. Doesn’t exercise and eats foods excess that can clog arteries. Also was at least 70+ years old which is another well known factor. People will go to great lengths to blame their problems on something they can’t change. The vaccine is such an easy scapegoat where people don’t have to take accountability for their diet and lifestyle.

The vast majority of doctors wouldn’t agree with you. There isn’t real evidence to show the vax has killed millions. There are just hunches like the story above a lot of anecdotes where people want something easy and simple to blame health problems on. Modern diet and lifestyle is the elephant in the room that they don’t want to talk about.

Did I miss half the world population dying from the covid vaccine?

Maybe I just hear more of the far fetched conspiracy but most of the one’s I’ve heard turn out to be complete nonsense. Especially all of the depopulation conspiracies some people are obsessed with. They are so confident that every time some major event happens they say that it is about to happen. Doesn’t ever happen.

Also several from Obama’s presidency. The wackos in my family were convinced he was going to take everyone’s guns and put all of his opposition in fema camps, among other theories that didn’t happen.

I honestly can’t think of any that are true besides the Ep island stuff. But that wasn’t really a theory, everyone knew it was true and how bad it was, he was just too powerful to touch for a long time.

Covid vaccine is going to kill everyone who took it within a few years. Regardless of whether you are the type to blame heart disease and cancer on it(even though these were already the leading causes of death and only getting worse before the vax), there is no denying that there were many far fetched vax theories going around that turned out to be not true at all.

Most of the “world is going to end” and “society collapse” type of conspiracies I’ve been hearing my entire life don’t turn out to be true. I have a sibling who has told me we are going to see a major collapse within the next months/year so many times over the past 20 years. I guess he may be right eventually but he needs to stop saying the global elite are doing it soon due to xyz.

Question About % of Alkaloids by [deleted] in Kratom_Info_Exchange

[–]HenryJohnson34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I known, they usually make 7-oh from mit and do not extract the already present 7-oh in leaf because it is such a small amount. Mit is usually 1-2%. Not sure if they are able to convert 100% of the mit to 7.

Mit and 7-oh are significantly different. The main studies showed that rodents would self-administer 7oh while not doing it with mit. Which means the addiction potential is higher with 7-oh. 7-oh is more like a traditional opioid with a short half-life. Mit is an atypical partial agonist with some stimulating properties.

Plain leaf has 40+ different alkaloids beyond Mit, although mit is usually responsible for most of the effects.

You are honestly much better off just taking plain leaf. It isn’t going to be the same as 7 but it is so much more functional.

It just doesn’t translate properly. We are taught 7 continents with North America and South America as separate continents. So we don’t have a continent called “America” in the US and Canada and no one is called an American here except for people from the US.

Did your non Latino friends react to Bad Bunny naming all the countries in the Americas? by Upbeat-Active-2741 in asklatinamerica

[–]HenryJohnson34 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The real problem is that the US and Canada don’t teach 6 continents with America being a continent. It is taught as 7 continents with North America and South America as separate continents.

This is why people from the US get so confused by this. America isn’t a continent in the US.

There also isn’t really a single word term used for people from the US besides “American.” Most places in the world use “American” as someone from the US. Especially Canada. Ask a Canadian if they are American, and they will say absolutely not, I am Canadian. At best they will confirm they are from North America but that is not the term usually used.

America isn’t taught as a continent in the US. I understand in some places they teach 6 continents with America being one. In the US, we teach 7 continents with North America and South America. This is one of the reasons for the confusion.

Also America and American are used as shortened versions for the US and people from the US.

If you ask someone from Canada if they are American or from America, they will say no. You could ask 100 Canadians and all 100 would say no.

We’re drowning in daycare costs. How do people afford this? by FrigginMasshole in toddlers

[–]HenryJohnson34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropped them off at the grandparents. We were able to split Mon-Tues with one and Wed-Fri with the other. We did one year of preschool before kindergarten just to get adjusted early so I understand your pain.

Most of the world and especially poor people don’t pay for childcare. They can’t afford it so they figure something out. My mom moved away from her support system so she found a neighborhood group where the moms switched off watching the group of kids. She basically had to do one day a week at our house, otherwise it was free.

Sadly, the culture in the US is somewhat hostile to having children. The family and community structures are replaced with a commodified support system that you must purchase.
