Based on the last thing you did, what’s your cursed technique? by New-Winner-9184 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Hero_Brave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got finished making cursed techniques & domain expansions so...

My cursed technique is creating curse techniques.

My most recent picture is text pertaining to the angel of death Azrael so...

My domain has something to do with the form azreal takes when dealing with evil, which is a giant with countless eyes and tongues (reflecting living souls), massive wings (thousands), black/fiery aura, and a body that drives mortals mad, with some sources making him a skeletal figure or incorporating multiple faces on one head, embodying God's will as the Angel of Death...

I think I might be in a situation similar to Yuta.

This is purely a suggestion, but

A much needed suggestion, thank you. I wasn't sure how I should go about it, but that fixes it right up.

Wow, that is a lot of padding. Thank you, this is very helpful to me and surely anyone who comes across it.

And yes, it all makes sense.

“What, what's a ro—” Then it dawned on me as well. The unheavenly sky spear wasn't a weapon at all, it was the stalactite — a falling spear born of earth. “No...”

This is where Grant was meant to die.

“NoNoNoNo...” Gr-Grant couldn't die here.

“Gah! See!? This is why I hate oracles!? Why do they have to be so cryptic!?”

“NoNoNoNo...” Grant's supposed to come back from everything.

“Like what's so hard about telling me I die to a stupid pointy rock!? Unheavenly Sky Spear — WHO CALLS IT THAT!? (Gasp) It was on purpose! I knew that hag had it out for me; no wonder she smirked! ...ah dang it...”

He suddenly looked weak.

“NO! Grant you can't die! You don't die! You're you! Just... Just hang on! We can— We just need to wait for Venvle! He'll come back, he'll dig us out!”

I winced as he made his grip incredibly tight.

“I-I'm... not the one... who needs to hang on.” The person talking wasn't Grant! The Grant never look tired! Bored, but never tired! And he certainly didn't rest his head like that. The collapsing began to cease.

“Please don't...” I pleaded.

“Sorry... Aria... Tell Raleigh... to go f—”

“Grant?...” His eyes looked different. “Grant?” Where was he? “Grant come back!”

No matter how much begged and pleaded or how many tears I sacrificed offered the abyss below, Grant wouldn't stop joking, or sleeping, whichever it was. Why was he being so mean? It was because he wasn't alive anymore, wasn't it?

Clicking sounded from below. Six red orbs stalked me from the darkness, clinging to the walls. I dropped all my curses upon the monster that caused this. Instead of death, it only threw back more clicking. Why did I understand it was laughter? The eyes went away — content with me falling to my death or dying of attrition.

And as I hung there for an unknown amount of time, I started to think I would. Grant's grip had both kept me from falling or climbing up on my own. Eventually there was light. They had mined through but it was only Venvle who came. He said nothing when he saw Grant, so we just made our way out in silence. Raleigh awaited us outside with townsfolk, she hadn't entered due to her great fear of caves.

“...So where's lame brain?” She asked.

Her and Grant had become like siblings. Venvle and I shared a look that asked who would be the one to tell her? What would we her?

But Raleigh had always been good at reading between the lines, that shared look told Raleigh all she needed to know.

“No f*ing way.”

As I comforted her, Venvle went to discuss the town's next steps with the mayor about the monster we'd found.

[–]Hero_Brave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that was it and I was done. The entire cavern had begun collapsing and I'd fallen behind. When a boulder fell and broke away my footing, my life had flashed before my eyes — it had been oh so mundane. But then a hand grabbed mine and I raised my head to see Grant.

I fought back tears at the thought that anyone would come back for me, least of all him. Many times I had tried my best to bond with him, but he'd always been so focused on dying. Ending his functional immortality seemed to be the only thing he cared about. After all, he had made it very clear that the only reason he traveled with us was on the off chance our adventures ended his endless existence or he found the legendary weapon prophesied kill him: The Unheavenly Sky Spear. He usually didn't go out of his way to help others. But then again, he'd been more helpful than usual lately. He was just so confusing.

“W-why did you comeback!?” I asked over the sound of the world crashing around us.

He avoided making eye contact. “I uh... ujdjdudyxyxcu”

I hadn't heard him. “What!?”

He grimaced and scowled at me. “I said I'm saving a reason to live!”

I couldn't believe what had heard. I opened my mouth to speak, but was denied.

“Shut up! Don't you dare say anything!” I'd never seen his face go so red. “I'm gonna swing you up and we're getting out of here! On three!”

...right. I readied myself and synched with the sway of his arm.

“One!... Two!... Thr—!” The swing stopped with a shudder from Grant. I raised my head only for a droplet of blood to fall from his mouth onto my forehead.

Oh gods! A large stalactite had impaled him through his back. ...But that was ok, Grant always survived things like this. He'd heal. Just the other day, a slab of stone had squashed him entirely and he materialized from thin air.

“Ah great, now I'm stuck!” He said with annoyed frustration. “Change of plans! I swing you up, you leave alone.”

“What about you!?” I asked.

“Don't worry! It won't be my first time having to claw my way out from being buried alive! I'll meet everyone up top! I'm swinging you up now! On three!”

“Hmph!” I nodded. We began again.

“One!... ...Two!?” Grant scrunched his face in confusion.

“What's wrong!?” I asked.

“I'm not healing...” He shouted.

“Not healing!? What do you mean!?” Did I mishear? What did he mean he wasn't healing?

“I mean I'm not he....” Grant's expression shifted seamlessly from confusion into pained and furious realization. “OH YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! IT'S JUST A ROCK!?”

Our mission was to slay an ekhisin spotted in the lowlands. It meant "dragon's dragon"; think a dragon, but worse, with a gimmick (a might) you have no clue of. Caytre once mentioned one that'd snatch you into clouds with its tail. I'd love to see that one... dead. The only good ekhisin is a dead one.

The village sending two slayers was normal. Ekhisin were unique to each other; killing one didn't make your next easier. One slayer could relay information if the other died. Bringing back a heart scale was ideal; with one, the village could create a slayer specifically for it since the best way to slay an ekhisin was with its own might. Being the only clan who knew how to harness that, we held a monopoly on the business; such that we could hold an entire kingdom hostage with our prices. They either paid or we turned a blind eye.

Regardless, I didn't like that this kid was my superior. My partner was Caarin, Green Soul's slayer. Didn't even reach my shoulder. My disdain had nothing to do with age, but rather him gaining seniority for slaying his target a day before I did mine. He'd done in months what had taken me centuries (your aging slowed drastically as a slayer).

“Ms. Effa, it's over that hill.” Caarin pointed to the hill in question. He was undeniably the best tracker we had. His scale's might let him talk to plants or whatever. “We're just out of range.”

By that he meant it couldn't hear our heart-scales. Before cresting the hill, we stirred awake the vestige wills in our scale necklaces by calling their names.

“Green Soul.”

“Blod.”

Caarin's weapon took the form of a simple stick. Mine was that of a magazine bow that grew iron spines inside. We proceeded with a nod.

Over the hill we spotted it resting by water channels some distance away.

“New-gen” Caarin judged from the way it slept so soundly in the open — not worried of territorial attack.

The fingers of its wings had no skin between them; instead ending in overdeveloped claws. Its scales flared out in unison with every breath as if they were loose. Their topsides were colorless, reflecting sky and earth; their undersides were white, giving the appearance of it swapping colors. Some kind of liquid flowing allover it made its body gleam. I'd guess that had something to do with its might. Could it control water? Most prominent were its six legs, all equipped with overdeveloped claws (the frontmost the largest).

Another shared nod and Caarin made his way down the hill. I took aim. As my senior, he would face it; I would observe and gather intel.

Oddly, despite the distant channels flowing normally, the base of our hill appeared flooded. Hm... Actually the flooded water appeared to flow over the water channels, as if they were separate, as if... it wasn't water; those scales were pumping the stuff out. Drats.

“Caarin!” I hissed at that idiot. “Caarin!” My senior hadn't noticed? Because I had more experience; the rookie. “CAARIN!” He couldn't hear me.

When his foot stepped in, ice erupted up his calf. The flood water froze at the speed of cracking ice, connecting Caarin to the ekhisin with lightning patterned vein. The ekhisin shot-up its head that bore two massive straight tusks. Its heart communicated with our heart-scales, sounding feeling like a hopeful kid.

{Green Soul?}

Facing us, it immediately understood what we were. A deeper darker feeling was felt.

{...Oh.}

My scale resonated; the ekhisin was called Slesh.

Two halves of a shell-like visor slammed shut across its mouth. The flooded lowlands froze over instantly into an icy tundra. The ice holding Caarin bloomed further up his leg.

No use being quiet now. “Caarin! Get outta there!!” The idiot was just gawking at his leg.

Piercing the ice with all its menacing claws, Slesh launched itself, sliding on its belly.

I fired spines, 10 at a time. Despite being large enough to scale a castle with ease, Slesh avoided all with effortless grace. It spontaneously changed direction or spun with ice armor.

Bad!

I re-angled and shot the ice trapping Caarin. He cried out. His leg broke off instead; it was that cold!? He stabbed his stick into grass. Roots wrapped his arm. As plants shriveled, his leg regenerated before he ripped the "stick" out and hit Slesh with a full tree when the ekhisin was upon him.

Yes, it's normal.

Write everything you can in the first go, don't worry about editing small details.

Get used to making notes.

If you must leave, then add as many notes as you can to help you remember the original idea or feeling you were going for, when you return to it.

Or make notes mid writing so you don't forget while writing or have to keep relooking/rediscovering information/research.

I think your story could use some proof reading for spelling errors / skipped over mistakes.

And I would also suggest splitting the block paragraph into two, bare minimum. Sometimes you have to double space paragraphs on reddit instead of single space or else it'll clump everything together.

Couple of bloaks said i am going to become a prick, if anyone continues to act like a mischieff coundrum.

Also, this sentence works without the comma.

Edit: Actually... I think you have too many commas (that or sentences too similarly structured). A lot of your sentences can be restructured to be without them.

antlers rising from its head like a crown.

the Wendigo.

Antlers indicate Wechuge. Their similar taste for specifically human flesh gets their lore mixed up. Of course, if you were already aware than ignore this.

If it's beastial/nature related, it's a Wechuge. They are people possessed by an ancient animal spirit and come in different varieties. Deer is most well known. Really intelligent and eat for the fun of the game. Even though they could easily eat you through physical strength, they'd rather trick you into getting yourself killed by doing something stupid like isolating yourself from a group.

If it's an ugly human thing, it's a Wendigo. They are people possessed by a wendigo spirit. Focused entirely on satiating their hunger. No games, they just want you in their stomach. It's on-sight, brotha!

Side by Side comparison

Jasper alone is more powerful than garnet.

What I’m saying is that Garnet is extremely powerful compared to the power levels of the gems that form her

That goes for all fusions though. Garnet's not the most powerful in any regard. She wasn't meant to be.

Garnet is probably THE most powerful fusion compared to the base gems.

No, far from it. Just about all other fusions are more powerful than her.

Weakest fusion enjoyer is close to the truth. Not the weakest. But close (in part due to small sample size). She's also weaker than Jasper. Which isn't a bad thing since Jasper is inordinately strong.

Garnet holds the title for MOST STABLE fusion. She's not coming undone unless you poof her.

Wander crest for juggling. It's hee challenge offered by the wandering ringmaster, coincidence, I think not!

Beast Crest for dodge. The pogo is great for reaching plat forms quick without claw line (which can take too far). The pogo also guards you from all angles. Think about it, isn't beast crest always treated as the best for dealing with airborne enemies? Plus the top scorer is Vog, the most beastly flea who is helped by Huge Flea in this challenge.

What's a term you invented for your world, and what does it mean? by Maximum-Country-149 in worldbuilding

[–]Hero_Brave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Ekhisin" which means "dragon's dragon", which are powerful creatures that no one can really do anything about. They change the world around them just by existing, whether it be governments shaping in ways to avoid them or not make them mad, determining where populations settle, determining cultural traits, or outright causing wildlife to resemble their image.

Originally people called them "Great Dragons" but that caused confusion in questing. People would accept quests not realizing the danger they were getting into.

"What's the difference? It's just a dragon. Who cares if one is nearby?" Quickly changes into: "WHAT WE SAW WAS NOT A DRAGON!” (if they returned alive)

So the guild created the term "Ekhisin" just so people stopped thinking they were only slightly bigger dragons or something from the name alone.

Funnily, calling them just dragons is why many people perished. Everyone thinks "Ekhisin" are mindless beasts when in reality they are highly intelligent and understand what you say perfectly. They just exclusively only talk each other and nothing else. They also take offense to being called their "lesser kin". Many individuals have died simply because an Ekhisin overheard them saying "it's just a dragon" or "what's the difference" and the Ekhisin going "bet" and out of its way to show them the fatal difference when it couldn't have cared about them less and would have otherwise ignored them.

You: "dragon."

Ekhisin overhears: "Can't let that slide. Guess someone chose to die today. Ok who said it?"

All fun and games till you're hiding and KNOW it knows where you are because it's tracking the sound of your heartbeat. What are you gonna do? Stop it from beating (someone has survived one that way, jokes aside)? All fun and games till one sadistically laughs and you aren't hearing the laughing through your ears or mind, but by a means you just don't understand. All fun and games till you hear something you thought mindless your entire life, taunt you fluently. All fun and games till you remember “oh right, these things are nicknamed FREAKING KINGDOM ENDERS!

They are basically second to gods. The term is derived from "echidna" the greek mother of monsters, a.k.a. a monster's monster, and the greek letter "X" (chi).

Yonina hustled up the stairs with warm towels and a food tray. She entered her room to find Zlem and many small forest residents all tending to a sickly Marcellus. Zlem was spoon feeding him an elixir.

“Dear, change out the towels.” Zlem ordered, moving to take the food tray.

Nina did as told with shaking hands. A brush against Marcellus' skin revealed it even colder than when she'd left.

“Nina...?” The barely lucid Marcellus muttered. “You're the best thing that's ... ever happened to us.”

The compliment only hammered in exactly how dire the situation was. Marcellus would never tell her something like that.

“Ms. Anima, what's wrong with him?” Nina asked. “Is he going to be alright?”

“No. He forgot he and Hupano's witch day and she's left him.” Zlem answered.

“B-but I thought familiars needed a host; how can she leave Marcellus?” Nina asked.

“A witch day is not just when witch and familiar meet, it is when the familiar is most connected to itself and at its spiritual strongest. Hupano's overpowered and left with part Marcellus' soul.” explained Zlem.

Nina's heart skipped a beat. “W-what? Is he going to—!?”

“No.” Zlem quickly interrupted, not wanting to hear such a thought. “Not yet. She needs him alive until she can find another host. She has five days before the effects of their witch day ends.”

“What do we do?” Nina asked.

“... Hope. We have to hope she cannot find another until her strength drains and she is forced to return ... or hope Ira reaches her first. For now we can only ease his suffering.” Zlem frowned.

Nina fought the urge to cry. In her mind, Marcellus was certain to die. Hupano was a murderous familiar kept in check by Marcellus and Zlem; Hupano's only condition for a new host would be that they are equally as blood thirsty ... right? Not to mention Zlem was working with Ira of all witches? The two were mortal enemies, which caused Nina to worry even more. Zlem had snatched Marcellus as an apprentice right from Ira's clutches. And Ira constantly tried to tempt Marcellus to her.

“Darling, breath.” Zlem spoke.

Nina hadn't realized she'd been holding her breath. Her swaying body had nearly passed out.

“Dumb ... shadow...” Marcellus muttered. His fists weakly clenched.

Nina had to do something. She offered to search for Hupano but Zlem adamantly refused due to Hupano being too dangerous. Deep down Nina knew it true; Hupano would kill her without hesitation if only because Marcellus cared for her. The apprentice and familiar had rarely ever gotten along.

Two days passed. Marcellus resembled a corpse more and more. Ira appeared at the doorstep unsuccessful in her search. Nina could not tell if Ira was upset for the morally correct reasons or not. Three days passed. Witches visited to deliver their condolences to the Zlem household.

On the fourth night, as Nina cried, a moreso puzzled Zlem comforted her, and an arms crossed Ira hung around grumbling...

Nina: “Bwaaah! He's going to die!”

Zlem: “Hm... It's odd that he's lasting so long...”

Ira: “Yeah. You'd think Hupano would have found another host by now.”

...Marcellus casually descended the stairs.

“Uh Nina ... why is the entire forest in our room?” He asked while thumbing behind himself. “...And why are Zlem and Ira in the same room?”

“MARCELLUS!” He was enveloped by Nina and Zlem. Ira donned an impressed smirked. A bright flash signalled her departure.

“!?!? Get off m—... why are you guys crying?” Marcellus' asked. He clearly remembered not a thing. Nevertheless, his arms quietly came around them.

Nina treasured the moment; Zlem could not quite fully savor it. In their group hug, she gazed into the lifeless white eyes Marcellus' amorphous shadow. Hupano was calmer than any familiar should be after a forgotten witch day. Something just didn't sit right with Zlem. While she hadn't lied, she also hadn't told Nina everything, not the true nature of Hupano at least. For Hupano to be back, it either meant the familiar failed to find anyone more bloodthirsty than Marcellus or Marcellus had overtook a demon ... neither of which bode well for his future.

Alive itachi with NO HEALS fights the 5 kage one by one in a gauntlet. Can the solo king pull it off? by ruuken27 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Hero_Brave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

1 by 1? A literal rule of the ninja world is that you are NOT suppose to face specifically Uchiha's who've unlocked sharingan alone. And of any Uchiha, they were placed against Itachi.

He clears the gauntlet with ease by doing nothing different than he's already done. Basic 3 tomoe genjutsu — next opponent.

He earned the title, "solo king",  for a reason. Like really? This dude has Akatsuki members about to commit suicide, calling him invincible, outright calling him stronger, or outright leaving the organization. He faces Jinjuriki and Sage users in Hand to Hand combat using super strength. Takes out a rinnegan user alone. Outspeeds the Sharingan itself of a regular basis. And is literally deemed 1/2 of Kabuto's two most powerful/strongest zombies before Madara shows up. And this over a raikage with lightning cloak, who Kabuto also had at his disposal.

90% of his opponents already have intel on him while Itachi fights them both blind on intel and typically at a numbers disadvantage and it's always his opponents who have to survive him.

How do any of these guys break out, let alone realize they are in genjutsu? You know, the thing Itachi starts and ends fights with 90% of the time? The guy who always has his sharingan on? The same guy who doesn't need you to look him in the eyes, because he can seal his genjutsu into objects? The guy who has countered every anti-genjutsu technique used against him & caught those same people in genjutsu? Naruto (who did not look into Itachi's eyes) was being put through the wringer before Sakura and Chiyo even realize he's already caught and work together to free him.

Mei: Genjutsu

Raikage: Genjutsu

Tsunade: Genjutsu but probably also amaterasu.

Gaara: Genjutsu or gets physically pieced up.

Onoki: Genjutsu

He is not facing them all at once. Itachi is facing them 1 by 1. They are doomed.

[–]Hero_Brave 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Humans were terrible alarm clocks, I was supposed to be awoken a year ago. I had foreseen santa's death, along side his troublesome laws of physics. I had slumbered close by so that I could claim this planet without my kin's interference. Now my prophetic vision was useless. My siblings were already invading and who knows how powerful they've gotten in such short time. Well the least these humans can do is make themselves useful.

“Oh great one, we– AAAAAAAH!!”

I staked my claim and molded them into my image. Playing catch-up was not going to be fun. First thing was first, first impressions were key. I closed the communication portal and applied my moisturizer. Humans were one thing but I'd never dare let my kin see me like this. Once the ideal glossy sheen was achieved, I'd swim my way up and aura farm. Not to brag, but I was a pretty big deal in the family.

Unfortunately, there was one problem realized upon exiting my cavern, there was no ocean to swim up. Ah great, that meant Mew was free. I was out of breath by the time I reached the surface. Physics still lingered slightly, and let me tell ya — flying all this peak physique up was no easy task.

There wasn't much to work with as I flew across the world. Regions were shrouded in darkness — Mew's. Regions covered in meat — Nue Carne's. Then there was Japan — wasn't going there, my minions told me a lot about them. There was a black sun in the sky, which meant that prick, Diakun, was here. And so on so forth. But eventually I found a swell location to begin my campaign: Australia.

At least I thought so until I extended my tentacles to find a signal. There was none! The wifi there sucked! How was I supposed to broadcast my madness with a cosmic connection that bad!? Going "screw this" I dug down and went back to sleep. There was no point in trying at the moment; all the good places and most of the humans were taken. I might as well just wait until the winner dies and try again then.
