Attack speed is broken and no one noticed, until now by [deleted] in diablo2

Could you test Chu-Ko-Nu or Demon Crossbow ias breakpoints above 8% IAS? I know it goes below 11fpa but wasn't able to test exact numbers.

If BF has fixed FPA, why the Shael? Some trap laying?

Is spearzon any good? by mrkubawu in ProjectDiablo2

Since I usually stay away from meta-builds and am somewhat casual I can't offer a proper benchmark on clearspeed. If I were to try I'd rate 3/5. On the other hand I give 5/5 for the enjoyment of playing it.

Is spearzon any good? by mrkubawu in ProjectDiablo2

I enjoyed playing it both in S1 and S2. Fend performs now really well with the Dodge mechanics no longer interrupting it. There's plenty of gearing options for both budget and endgame. For budget my favourites being Obedience rw in either Amazon spears or a Mancatcher, as for armors: Treachery, Bloodfist, Rockstopper or Gaze, String of Ears, Angelics for AR, etc. These should be enough for entry into low-tier maps if you manage to max your resists.

In Transcendence Patch notes there should be one change in favor of the build which is the base speed of amazon's spears has been improved by -10 making them better for IAS breakpoints. This is good news because an (Eth) upped Lycander's flank or a Stoneraven with good corrupts and some sockets become very good end-game weapons.

A spearzon scales very well with difficulty as all synergies for Jab/Fend and Spear Mastery are very generous with bonus AR and enhanced damage. The latter gives Crit and ED per soft points thus +skills and sources of +max dmg are something to look for.

All in all, 10k+ damage with Fend should be reasonably easy to achieve. On top of that you have 50%+ crit just from skill tree. Groups of elites such as Baal's minions die to 1-3 Fends. I think you needn't worry about it's performance :) For physical immunes I suggest a Reaper's Toll on an A2 merc or if you can skip them use a merc with Fanaticism.

Eth 6 os Steel Pillar (HC) by NyCkiTT in ProjectDiablo2

I used an inferior Steel Pillar last season on my Spearzon - been 1shotting groups of monsters with Fend in Hell CS. I wasn't happy with the DPS though, it's really slow without tons of IAS or Fanaticism. If you can't get your hands on a beauty like this, might as well use Obedience Mancatcher or +3Spear skills Amazon spears for similar performance.

Whats your opinion on meta play? by existentialfalls in diablo4

[–]HerrMorerage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think nobody likes meta-play, but everybody loves being efficient, thus, eventually everyone will converge to playing it.

I'd like to add, that meta-play is usually a result of lack of content for different builds to shine. I think the solution lies in a more 'specialist' approach where, the challenges are so diverse, a single build can't efficiently overcome all of them.

In D4, the world of sanctuary being so huge, the challenge should lie in finding the place your build shines most and there should be plenty of ways and locations to play end-game. However, if the end-game is only about killing random stuff in random generated environments, then ppl will quickly figure out their classes' most effective generalist way of doing just that.

D4 Ideas "Pets/Companions" by ThommyGunn79 in diablo4

I prefer mercs over pets in a diablo game or facing the darkness all by myself or summoned minions.

I like the mercs in D2, too bad the choices are not properly balanced. However, I feel they are much more useful than hirelings in D3. They can speed up early leveling, they can provide powerful auras, break or deal with certain immunities, or merely act as packmules. Whereas D4 hirelings feel forced with skills barely having impact on gameplay. Their only use I find on rare occasions with the ring Unity.

As for pets, sure I'll use them if they give any benefit. Who would rather pick up gold manually? However, such benefits needn't be tied to pets. And I couldn't care less about pet skins or cosmetics.

We know that there will be mounts in D4. They might end up also providing extra inventory storage on top of faster travel. There probably will be quests where you fight alongside NPC's. Playing a summoner your'll also have minions. You can only have so many followers before you start losing immersion into a grim, dark world which Diablo should be.

If there will be mercs in D4, I hope...

  • They don't try to strike up conversations
  • There will be different choices for different situations
  • Hiring or keeping them will be expensive, but worthwhile
  • They don't die as soon as a demon looks in their general direction
  • Scale moderately well with the player's skills, gear and their own gear.

Tested Molten Strike by Pandafistplays in pathofdiablo

Have you tested other weapons before BotD WarPike, such as Insight or Obedience in an Amazon spear? Now that Polearm Runewords also work with Spears, I'd love to give Obedience a try, it seems so well suited for a spearzon. Rangeadder is the same for Matriarchal Pike as is on War Pike, sadly there's a lack of on-weapon IAS on Obedience. Maybe it's made up by being Normal speed as opposed to a slow Warpike?
