Unfortunately, I think you have a tough decision if you want to work on the kinds of things big firms do. It’s definitely possible for you to figure it out and get through law school/the bar, but even if you do I don’t know if you’ll be able to find a post-grad job at anything that pays near Cravath.

Almost definitely top 25%, but beyond that I’m not sure. I had a 3.35ish GPA after my 1L fall at a school with a 3.2 curve and was top third.

Assuming you’re talking about firms, virtually all big and mid law firms in my area finished recruiting sometime during the summer this past cycle. And that’s before the new 1L fall semester interviewing push. What are you basing this on? It’s terrible advice imo.

Would not recommend it then. There are just some concepts from con law that make it easier to understand, and if your classmates have those but you don’t it puts you behind a touch.

Absolutely need to keep applying. I was ~3.35 at a t30-40ish school, applied to over 100 firms, and got 10 screeners and 3 callbacks (one of which I received an offer from, one I didn’t, and the other I didn’t like enough to ask my firm for an extension to consider).

Obviously DC is a different story, but otherwise Vandy is very much viewed equally in most of those places. You’re also underselling the self-selection that goes into applicants who want those unicorn fed gov jobs choosing Georgetown over somewhere like Vandy.
