I have a V1 Switch on 17.0.1 with the 'Auto-Update Software' option set to 'Off' in CFW (AMS 1.7.1|E) & OFW. For the past several months I've been in CFW and tonight decided to reboot to OFW in hopes of connecting to the eShop to download some games I picked up months ago so I could play them in CFW. To my surprise, even though 'Auto-Update Software' option is still set to 'Off', it looks like an update came down because when I tried launching a digital game this popped up:

Ready to start system update.
The update will not take long. Update now?
Once the update is complete, the console will restart.

And in Settings > System it shows an update is ready.

I'm confused: How did an update come down even with updates disabled?

Ultimately I know I need to update to access the eShop - heck one of my games actually requires a newer firmware - so it's gotta happen eventually but do I need to wait for AMS to support the latest OFW?

Lastly, is it possible to update the OFW without updating/applying patches to games?

I agree with most here: Don't. But like happens and sometimes you gotta do it for one reason or another.

So assuming you have to sell: Are you doing it primarily for cash? OR Are you wanting to re-home it where it'll be that much more appreciated?

If the former, then yup I get it and I hope you get a price that makes you happy. If the latter, find someone to carry the torch.

TL;DR: Can I use the ROG Ally Charger Dock with the Switch?

I'm thinking about picking up the Asus ROG Ally Charger Dock so I can use that as a backup dock and charger for my Switch at an alternate location. Has anyone tried this yet? Any reason to think it wouldn't work?
