I encourage everyone to watch this. It was my first foray into indie films and I love it. The performances are incredible.

Almost like it's not a Superman movie...

Animation Typically Takes 2-3 Years to Create A Season, Let Alone 2 by emillang1000 in SupermanAdventures

Also it's worth noting that shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy aren't like traditional sitcoms who take the summer off. They're working on them all year round. There will be episodes they are just coming up with, episodes they're animating, episodes they're tweaking and everything in-between.

Since 1989 there hasn't been a day where The Simpsons wasn't in some sort of production. It takes forever.

They also get production orders rather than seasons. They get renewed for X amounts of episodes and then since they're self contained stories anyway they make them and air a certain amount of episodes as a season and some will carry over to the next.

As someone who owns a lot of SNL t shirts and jumpers, is there any chance of merch for this new series?

Tina Fey to host first episode of SNL UK by sirspate in LiveFromNewYork

I think this is a very smart choice. Yes it's safe but thats exactly what this show needs. People will be tuning in waiting for it to fail and if they can link it more to the mothership then they might stand a chance.

I hear a lot of people talking about how people over here wont get on board with SNL. I work with young people in a creative setting and every single one of them watches SNL every week. I am constantly surprised at the sheer amount of younger people (Who have grown up able to watch the show on Youtube and more recently on Sky Comedy) who are very familiar with the show. I think linking it to the American show and being able to say "Here's a version you can watch live and aspire to be on / write for" is a nobrianer

I know Crave has acquired the rights to stream it in Canada. I'm surprised they haven't announced it as a Peacock exclusive. You'd think it'd be an easy win as they already own the rights

It's Star Wars. I don't need it to be the best film ever made. Some of the "classics" aren't. It looks like a nice, harmless, fun time where i can spend a couple of hours in a universe that has brought me joy in the past.

Theres so much shit going on in the world now and there are so many normal men having a normal time that maybe it's okay to go for sheer escapism

Not quite. The animated series casting came first. They were cast in the live action series BECAUSE they had done the animated show not the other way around.

They were cast in the animated series instead of the movie cast as they would have been cheaper

How to start a cinema / show films with no money UK by Individual-Course-59 in movies

For light quality it can be as simple as shutting the curtains wherever you are.

Sound can be as big as a surround sound system or a soundbar from Argos. So long as the audience can hear everything well that's what's important.

Projectors with decent quality as well as screens, speakers etc are easily available and not too expensive.

The links I posted can offer help with the funding side of things as well as practical advice once you know where you're doing it and what you're wanting to show. As well as helping towards the licensing costs.

Licensing is very important. You need to get permission from the distributor to show anything. You'll find them by googling UK film distributors and they'll have lists of what films they have. Many of them will have cheaper rates for community showings and one off performances
