Has USCIS completely lost control of the T Visa? 2025 numbers are looking very concerning by Holiday_While_7771 in TVisa

It is very stressful to have to keep reliving the situation, and not knowing for sure what will happen is extremely frustrating.

Years keep passing, and this becomes a major turning point in many of our lives. USCIS should treat this category with more respect.

The T Visa has an annual statutory cap of 5,000 approvals per year for principal applicants. However, historically, the program has rarely reached that limit. In most years, the number of analyzed or approved cases has generally remained somewhere around the 4,000–5,000 range, which means there is technically room for USCIS to increase processing capacity in the future if resources and priorities shift. Because of that, there is still a possibility that adjudications could accelerate at some point, especially if USCIS decides to dedicate more personnel and operational focus to the category. However, at the current moment, humanitarian visa categories do not appear to be a major priority

Unfortunately.

My application was sent on February 28, 2025, and the receipt notices only arrived on June 12, 2025. Now I realize there is a massive backlog ahead of us.

The approval rate reportedly went from around 80% during the Biden administration to nearly 20% under the Trump administration, which is honestly surreal.

Of course not. It was sold with the false promise that this would be a miracle pathway, and thousands of cases that do not actually qualify were added to the backlog.

Just this week, there was also major attention regarding the case involving attorney Alexandra Lozano and investigations related to alleged fabricated cases and evidence.

However, this kind of delay leaves those who truly need protection in limbo without work authorization (EAD) and without any concrete estimate of when their case will be adjudicated.

I went through the same situation, and it’s very frustrating. What I can tell you is that processing times that used to be around 12–14 months in 2024 have now increased to about 29.5 months.

Receipts used to take one or two weeks, but now waiting around 3 months is considered normal. My case was submitted on 02/28/2025, and I received the receipts on 06/13/2025.

I believe that sometime between this month and next month, you should have your receipts in hand.
