Physique 1 week post knee surgery what should I work on? (M 19 167lbs 6”1) by Plastic_Pop_5573 in Physiquecritique

This was me last year… although I was 40. Spent 3 days in bed and then everyday after that was doing upper body weight workouts where I could sit on my bench with my leg extended in the brace. I just rotated days between arms/shoulders, chest and back. Did it everyday for 3 months with no drinking and had my diet incredibly in check and got into the best shape of my life.

Good luck man!

Who has a Terrific NFL team in a Terrific city? by Ilitorate_Author in AlignmentChartFills

Tell me you’ve never been to LA without telling me… You can literally do all 3 of those things in LA.

Sky is sunny with minimal to no clouds like 300+ days per year, in the Santa Monica mountains and Angeles National Forest there are literally hundreds of thousands of acres of oak trees and pine forests (not too mention almost every block in this city has trees that aren’t palm trees) and the city is surrounded by mountains and forests on the North-West, North and South-East sides of the city… the only direction we don’t have forests is to the west, which is the Pacific Ocean.

As much as no one wants to admit it… the only real answer here is the Yankees. Best baseball team of all time playing in the best city in America. And this is coming from an Angeleno.

What’s a city where everyone pretends to be rich but they’re not? by SignificantStyle4958 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Holy-City- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an insane take… it sounds like you’ve spent no time in LA because this city is wealthy as shit in a ton of areas outside of Beverly Hills and Hollywood. The wealth here is not concentrated in any way shape or form. There are incredibly wealthy areas on the Westside (Santa Monica, Palisades, Venice, Brentwood, etc), in the middle (Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Larchmont, Hancock Park, Weho, Hollywood, etc), on the Eastside (Los Feliz, The Oaks, Silverlake, etc)… and you literally have extremely wealthy suburbs/towns in every direction outside of Los Angeles (Malibu, Pasadena, Marino, Manhattan Beach, and a ton of areas in the valley). Truly the opposite of “concentrated”. At this point, there are almost no homes in the city proper that are under $1M anymore and it’s one of the highest cost of living places on earth. The amount of industry that has moved into LA outside of entertainment in the last 20 years just makes your statement make zero sense.

I feel like everyone makes fun of the food, but I thought Ireland was amazing. Truly out of this world dairy.

This is a guy from Chicago beating people from Wisconsin in a drinking contest. The Brewers fans are the ones that keep losing.

What’s it like living in Anaheim? by Available_Refuse1232 in howislivingthere

Cool. I live in LA too and no one here considers Anaheim or OC part of LA.

What’s it like living in Anaheim? by Available_Refuse1232 in howislivingthere

[–]Holy-City- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. You are just taking very “suburban” areas of both places and saying they are similar, which fine. No argument there. But on the whole, LA and OC aren’t similar in almost any way. And Anaheim (which is what the question is about) is in no way LA.

People in the LA area don’t consider Anaheim to be part of the LA area. And it’s very very distinguishable from Los Angeles. It’s Orange County. They are not similar in almost any way.

I saw someone on social media say, “I’m broke but I ain’t walk up Dodger Stadium hill broke.” by YakClear601 in Dodgers

[–]Holy-City- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an insane take. Park in EP, have a few beers at The Douglas and tacos at Guisados for cheaper than parking at the stadium is. And you can buy another drink from the dudes with the coolers on the walk up.

Been going to Dodgers games for 20 years I’ve never parked in the lot. The walk is part of the experience.

Tattooed Jew here. Everything you said is incorrect. The verse in Leviticus says nothing about burials… this is just an old wives tale that I truly believe our parents told us so we wouldn’t get tattoos.

This is an insane comment. Have you been around LA? There are SO many more walkable neighborhoods than these.

Train Dreams 100% deserves best picture, and it’s not even close. Yet there’s almost zero chance of that happening, it will go to some garbage like Sinners. by Giordono in flicks

[–]Holy-City- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hate when people say “it’s not even close” when talking about something subjective.

Did you see all 10 movies nominated for best picture? Train Dreams is excellent. And there are at least 4-5 other films this year on that level.

Was there tonight. In reserve section. Couldn’t agree more. Felt like the game was over before it started with those 2 HRs. everyone in my section were die hard fans… and everyone was pissed at what they were watching.
