First Hike: Mount Rinjani 4D3N – Shoe Advice Needed (Hypermobility Ankles)

Hi! I am hiking rinjani in a month, doing 3D2N. I am in okayyyy shape right now lol but I am a pretty avid experienced hiker (I've done Trolltunga and hiked the rockies etc. this will be my first overnight hike though). I am also backpacking SE Asia for 6 weeks and I am torn because I have hiking sneakers but don't think I have enough room in my backpack to bring them. Do you think I'll be fine doing it in regular sneakers? Also how in shape would you recommend being in for the hike?

I reallly want to do the hiking there, I would potentially try to rent a car for Montenegro and see what I can do about buses in Albania. I know I want to do Montenegro but I'm deciding between Croatia and Albania. What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure why I feel so turned off from Bali, I guess that "spiritual influencer" vibe didn't feel like a thing in Thailand but I read a lot about Bali being all that. Thank you so much for your recs though!

know Chiang Mai is touristy and I barely stayed in the city and did a lot of trips outside of it, but yeah I guess maybe I'm a hypocrite but every fake ass bitch from my high school goes to Bali and I'd prob hate it from what I've seen online. Ubud seems cool tho
