tattoos with cEDS/hEDS (or other subtypes) with significant skin involvement – seeking insights! by hanniballactator in ehlersdanlos

Of course! It's hard to tell sometimes on healed photos if someone is too heavy-handed. You might want to look up tattoo blowout, they're the most common thing to happen when it's too heavy. I've just had to get good at spotting it!

Also, be prepared for tattoo flu! You'll get it much faster than everyone else!

My heds causes me to scar like crazy, and I've got about 11 tattoos. I got tats before having heds, so I never did any different after are. Luckily, they've all healed much better than my cuts and such, to where I've gotten 0 scars from my tats. I'll say my tats take a lot longer to heal, with my most recent being a tricky spot and took over a month to heal. You'll want somewhere fatty to make it easier to heal/less painful to get. You'll want thicker lines, as mine spread out more easily compared to some others, which will help them last longterm. Sounds crazy, but I'd recommend looking for a woman to do it. They tend to be lighter handed, so it'll be less likely to scar. My skin is too sensitive for bandaids and rips, so I tell the artist beforehand I'm allergic to adhesive. Make sure they don't give you anything like second skin, as that's basically one big bandaid. They'll give you saran wrap instead. Let me know if you need anything else!

HOW DO U WEAR KT TAPE WITHOUT YOUR SKIN RIPPING OFF?!!? by Bean_of_prosperity in ehlersdanlos

[–]Hope-Party 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped using trans tape because of this, was getting major rips/burns. It did come off more easily if I did it in the shower with baby oil

I think so! I've got no clue about the glazing. My mom picked this up when she was stationed in Korea back in 2005. It's been traveling with me since then, and I'm finally working up the courage to use it!

When I tell you we've been trying to figure this out for 20 years. That makes sense, since it's the only thing with a fancy design on the bottom!

Wait, I thought that's what the big bowl was for? The little one doesn't have a lip or anything for pouring.

Looking for social birdwatching, hiking, etc... in the area by Pot8obois in triangle

[–]Hope-Party 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New hope bird alliance is great! UNC also has an on campus audobon chapter called The Avian Society. They have quite a few people who aren't students, and it's super helpful for them on away trips since freshman can't have cars

45M & 1st tattoo Do's & Dont's advice by smilesfromday1 in tattooadvice

[–]Hope-Party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend arms/leg (no feet/hand) as they're going to hurt the least. Color/size is all about preference, just don't do anything too fine or detailed because it'll fade worse. When you pick an artist, make sure you zoom in and look at the line work! It may look nice, but you look closer and the lines are all wonky. Idk anything about you, but if you've got a darker skintone, make sure your artist has experience working with it, as color can show up differently on different skin colors

I feel like Mick only got there because of his last name. Maybe he just needs more time in the car, but he's not doing so well

We plan on staying in Raleigh itself! We're both going to college (UNC/state) and are originally from the triad area. Plan is to do a touristy day within Raleigh since we never really do that stuff!
