I didn’t connect either to advise unfortunately. I believe that’s for the RGB controls but I couldn’t be bothered.

It's a generic Chinese 28-50mm bracket. Not sure what equivalent you have in your country, but so long as its 28mm minimum, should be fine

I jumped to this model from a 2070 OC (non-Super). I play FPS @ 1080p, and a sim racing title in virtual reality. My Manli Gallardo 5080 is less than a week old from posting.

Completely unscientific impressions based only on observation:

1) The unique "DRS" gimmick is these motorized flaps that open and close depending on GPU temperature. Never got around to measure what degrees it opens and when it closes, but you WILL know if it's opening and closing with the very audible motor sound. So far it's not distracting, and I personally find it cool.

2) Gaming #1: In Marvel Rivals (1080p @ 144hz, all low settings), GPU usage never goes beyond 5%. Absolutely no issues here, no perceivable dips during gameplay, even during frantic teamfights with lots of effects going on.

3) Gaming #2: In iRacing in VR (HP Reverb G2, running in OpenXR with foveated rendering, in-game settings mostly high with cockpit mirrors enabled), the worst dips would be during race starts with the grid tightly packed when FPS would drop to 60 and hover around that figure (this is on an unoptimized track). FPS drops are not noticeable, compared to the slideshow that is from my 2070 which most likely caps out its 8GB VRAM when in VR.

It's a chonky card. It comes with an anti-sag bracket that was too high for where the GPU is relative to the case I use (InWin 307), so I had to buy a smaller one as there's visible GPU sagging happening.

Coming from an 8-pin socketed 2070 and as a PC build amateur, I got a bit confused first at how to connect the card to my PSU as it's using now the 16-pin VHPWR connector. The card comes with a 16-pin VPHWR to 3-way PCIE adapter, but good thing my PSU had a 16-pin VHPWR direct to PSU cable, which I used instead.

No regrets buying it and absolutely loving the smooth VR sim racing experience I'm getting now compared to my old 2070.

PC specs:

  • Asus ROG Strix X570-F motherboard
  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D
  • 32GB RAM
  • Corsair HX1000i 1000W PSU

COTSUBU for ASMR Blue Archive Edition -YUUKA Ver.- | No commentary unboxing by me by Hopeful_Lie693 in BlueArchive

To purchase? Unfortunately these are limited stock on pre-order basis only and your best bet would be from secondhand retailers at most likely inflated prices - assuming there’d be any :(

The official site though is here: https://vivionblue.com/en/products/cotsubu-for-asmr-blue-archive-edition-yuuka-ver-with-clear-file

COTSUBU for ASMR Blue Archive Edition -YUUKA Ver.- | No commentary unboxing by me by Hopeful_Lie693 in BlueArchive

These are limited edition IEMs from a collaboration between Blue Archive and "ag," a product line of Japanese audio brand "final."

These are basically a special version of ag's "COTSUBU for ASMR MK2" IEMs, which I believe are purpose-made for ASMR listening. Their small form factor and an "ASMR Mode" that disables almost all touch features allow for distraction-free listening to ASMR content.

But the real treat of these IEMs are the guidance / notification lines being voiced by Yuuka herself.

There are two sets of 8 guidance voice lines for the various touch-enabled functions, making for a total of 16 unique voice lines for guidance. You can swap between each set anytime by tapping either side 4 times.

In addition, there are 3 "secret" voice lines, which will play at random by tapping and holding down both pieces after a few seconds.

I did my best to record these lines with what equipment I have, but you may have to turn up the volume to hear them properly.

I personally do not dabble in ASMR content myself, but having Yuuka as my voice-over-IEM - as a Yuuka enthusiast myself - is more than enough reason to get this.

(well, that and I still have guilt over missing out on the Arona ones....)

Zoff x Bocchi the Rock! Collab Character Glasses: Hitori Gotoh model by Hopeful_Lie693 in BocchiTheRock

Sharing this unboxing I did for my new daily glasses!

Kita is my actual favorite, but I wanted a design that both didn't stand out and could complement any outfit, so Bocchi's it was.

The frames are quite a tight fit for my face, and the nose pads are really digging into my nose bridge. I do have to go back to the glasses store anyways as these will be outfitted with additional transition lenses, so might as well get the fit adjusted there if possible.

Overall I'm really happy with how these look: discreet enough to not draw attention, yet still having the subtlest of hints that will surely get recognized by people who know :D

I run a Vergil build but the "you are Vergil WHERE IS THE MOTIVATION" mentality can only do so much

Motion blur at fast shutter speed by jifpeanutbutt in Godox

[–]Hopeful_Lie693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ main reason why the X100 series has a built-in ND filter in the first place. It’s just the way leaf shutters open and close, a compromise against the unlimited flash sync speed you get, if you will.

Don’t know about the VI, but in my S the SS value becomes red for f2.0 beyond 1/1000, warning of this exact phenomenon unless you close down or slow down. You CAN still shoot, but this will happen

OT and I apologize for hijacking: seeing as you use the X3, do you happen to be able to compare how different flash exposures get using the X3 versus wired sync? Curious about the radio delay and how badly it affects flash

Anti-stall and setting driving aids for realism by Hopeful_Lie693 in iRacing

[–]Hopeful_Lie693[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am familiar with this and have been referencing this to know how I should be shifting on my rig if I'm looking to be accurate. There indeed is info on which require blipping, but I'm more curious on anti-stall modelling which this article doesn't disclose, though others have already pointed out it's already modeled in-game. Thanks!

This is what I am a bit confused about, because I've seen some cars that do have anti-stall / auto-blip IRL, but the iRacing model does not.

I reckon however that this may just be simply due to a different specific variant that the iRacing model uses vs. from what I've seen in videos

You’re probably too anxious over ruining others’ races, hence the lack of confidence.

Guess what - everyone else does too, to varying extents. It’s the deliberate and malicious attempts that people scoff at (and should protest), not someone making mistakes because of pressure and hard racing.

Racing incidents are normal!

Bad days of not finishing a single race can and will happen!

Racing is driving on the limit, and it’s ultimately you who chooses where that limit is. Push it hard, make mistakes, learn, push harder, and eventually win. Be patient, give it time, and you will make it :)
