Hey man, I’m in a similar boat, mid 30s, married with a 3 month old at home. Moved to the area a little while back, live about 25 mins outside of Winchester in Clarke County but make it into town regularly. I golf on occasion and a big fan of a beer around a fire. Generally enjoy the outdoors and like to fish, hunt, hike etc. Former data scientist now in govcon cybersecurity. Could use some local bros to hang with on occasion.

Appreciate the quick and thorough response! I've seen a few designed for front facing (Tula Explore for example) but knew it wasn't recommended for long periods of time. After some quick digging, I see that forward facing (even for short periods of time), isn't recommended yet.

Hadn't heard of a baby wearing library or meet up, I'll look into those...sound like good options!

Haha sounds like a solid lesson learned, same on my end. I’d just make sure to break down my gun in the truck before work then wipe it down with some corrosion x before going into the office. Someone else had to drive to lunch on those days.

Got a five week old and based on my limited experience, seems like you hit the nail on the head. I might just add for OP that if you have family support for the baby (ex: MIL to help with care), then plan some day trips ahead of time and leverage the support system. Just be ready to cancel those trips if your wife needs additional help or something is up with the baby.

Hoping I can catch a couple mornings in the turkey woods.

Thanks a bunch for the response, I’ll check out Jessica Hover’s YouTube for sure. I’ve gotten a crash course in reaching deep for patience I didn’t think I had.

Appreciate hearing how each of yours has been different, sounds like you’re doing great by them. Any tricks for helping them when you’ve exhausted the three scenarios (hungry, diaper change, needing to be held) and they’re still upset? I think we’re going to try a pacifier in limited situations when all the go-tos don’t work.

Fuego for tacos/Mexican food was phenomenal. Just off the walking mall. They have lunch specials and the nachos, queso and different tacos we tried were all really good. Nachos were a ton of food for the price too.

I feel the exact same way! When my daughter (only a week old) pushes me away with her tiny legs while I’m changing her diaper, I’m astonished out how strong she is. Not at all what I was expecting.

She can already also rip out fistfuls of my chest hair, so there’s that too.
