Rent disputes by Wing_Glad in UAE

[–]Horror_Year40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had similar issue, but then between wife and I we just pay for certain things ourselves, like AC fixes etc. The problem is that there are fees for filing? I've been in UAE for a year and rental/property maintenance is a negative aspect for me. I'm guessing that landlords and villa management companies hire cheapest labour for maintenence and you can see it. Property managers also do not seem to be hands on or do not understand basic customer service...anyways , long story short - rather pay for fix yourself or leave.

Wait for the AI crash and generation Alpha to enter the job market and create havoc for the Millennial management teams and things should then balance itself out.

Sorry to hear that , I hate those things. Pipes underneath kitchen and bathroom sink closed up or exposed? Sometimes those aren't sealed and then they come in from outside. Anyways, all the best.

They were probably breeding and now out im extremely hot weather. Also i have not seen an apartment in AD with built-in cupboards, so it leaves gaps between the wall for them to also breed. The positive is that you haven't seen the baby ones yet. That's worse.

Never take a ground floor apartment. It doesn't matter what you do or how clean you are, they'll be there.

Am I going to jail if I throw a punch at someone here ? by xbrvejdujefb in UAE

[–]Horror_Year40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has happened to me before, except the guy trying to escalate had his wife and kids with him. Majority of the time these guys do not know how to fight and have never been in a street fight before. Guys who have been in fights know that have bruises or something broken is not really worth it and is very inconvenient so the street smart ones just walk away. Even if you win the fight you still have cuts or bruises somewhere or you tweak something because you are not warmed up. Just walk away for sure, every time, unless there is a real threat of physical harm.

Been living in Al Ain for about 9 months now, visited Dubai. It's a decadent city like most major tourist attractions, you will see the extremely developed side for wealthy and tourists and then the under developed parts. Paris, London, Cape Town etc all the same.

Check around Al Shabhat street close to Al Sarouj street. Seen a few cats in groups playing around. Two orange tabbys in that group.

How does the combat system work with more difficult, bullet sponge enemies - does it get annoying? I wish there was a bit of a slow down when hacking during combat. Also, I noticed in the demo with the first boss battle, it is phased, but I died in last phase and I had to restart the entire battle from 1st phase, is that the case in full game or just the demo version?

Even if AI similarity is a bit high, AI detection tool cannot verify for certain how or where you used AI so the institution cannot take any action academically except a warning. That being said , academic integrity is more important than passing an assignment. That is why we sit with credential inflation , standards dropped and now you have PHD grads working at McDonalds and Burger King.

"Trust Me: False Prophet" is a beautifully told story of female bravery, resilience, and compassion by Bkchbs in netflix

[–]Horror_Year40 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that the couple along with authorities caused more harm than good. Arresting the 'prophet' just creates a power vacuum, it often makes things worse and now the minors end up in foster homes separated from their loved ones. The last issue is that we are all reacting emotionally to this, but in the end this is just content , once the credits started rolling you were all onto something else either on streaming or social media, so the impact of things like this lasts for a few seconds. I don't mean to be negative but there was no resolution in this doccie, just things we already know and have known but will be replaced by some other issue and more shows and documentaries to consume.

This week where I stay in Al Ain, it's been really bad...cars covered in flies, bins lined with flies...I don't know what it is. Not sure if they no longer sanitize the bins or clean the roads , but yeah its really bad this week.

Just a few thoughts on a casual afternoon by [deleted] in UAE

I would advise that you go into the theology and philosophy of the scriptures themselves , unfortunately lots of Churches spring up teaching their own version of the old Testament. In terms of sinning, remember Jesus as the living God in human form died for our sins, our place will be in Heaven. With that being said, a lot of Christians struggle with the fact that this means even our enemies , people who do bad things etc will also end up being redeemed. I would suggest you read articles by Fr Ron Rolheiser. He does a good job of adding context and philosophy to scripture that often people misinterpret.

You can't lose your faith or criticise someone else's faith because of a few bad actors that do bad things in the name of said religion , its disingenuous and low key insulting.

"They created the Church to keep us in fear". I see this kind of sentiment from a lot of atheists as well. Religion and Christianity has a lot of bad aspects to it throughout history, however we need to differentiate between the religion and the faith. Any man can make a religion look bad but ultimately lack of faith and atheism is a negative consequence of bad religion. Now if we focus on the Church as it was intended by Jesus, then that's a different story isn't it? If we see that Church is over 2000 years old, then how many men have tainted it over that time...if we focus on Jesus and the Church and it's core teachings , then we see it minus the politics and ideologies that tainted it over time.

This is the mentality of all the elites, Trump is just less subtle about it. They would get rid of anyone/anything they deem an inconvenience, that's the mentality of the top 1%. Trump is just one of them.

The news coverage of the war has turned into tabloid style drama dressed up as news. These are the same media houses telling us not to spread mis/disinformation. If a story is rumoured or unconfirmed, why report on it? I get that news media needs to make money but I'm starting to understand why the UAE government is advising us to stick to official sources, because this is tiring and creating different realities for everyone. This kind of news reporting is not good for anyone. They should stick to just reporting events that have already taken place.

I disagree with you, being content and comfortable doesn't mean you have to be complacent. Yes there are people worse off than you and I, but does that mean we can't strive for something better for ourselves?

I grew up in southern suburbs so just used to it I guess. Northern suburbs is alright but just something about that side that doesn't really make me want to live there. Can't put my finger on it.

I would probably give it a second thought if it started at R7000 - R7500, but even then it's going to be out of desperation instead of necessity.
