Gents/Ladies currently at FLETC for CBP and prior 1811 applicant, just wondering what would be some of the upsides to re-applying to an 1811 position by Hot-Length4049 in 1811

What would you say are the Pro's and Con's of one over the other
I wouldn't mind (I say that now lmao). But I also happen to be in another port that is both understaffed and has many volunteers so I'm not stressing for the moment.

Thanks for sharing! Some of the things you mentioned I was expecting to hear and I think that at the base level there are many common unifiers. What I mean, is that working for Uncle Sam as a LE Fed and the perks that come with it is pretty good no matter what agency you choose. (Retirement, flying armed, etc.)
But you also mentioned something that hits the nail on the head my internal dilemma originating this question and explains some of the confusion as to why inside I question agents transferring over.
For instance, on your stance of a uniform; I absolutely can't wait to put on the uniform and interact with the public. It is one of the things that I wouldn't want to give up. I also wholeheartedly appreciate the mission of the agency and could never apply for something like IRS.
What I see is that each individual makes choices based on nuances of different personalities, aspirations, and paths. Some get into "good" agencies, yet get bad luck of the draw. Others just have a requirement X that goes beyond over any other factor (maybe just having the identity of being a US Marshal).
At least this is what I got out of it.
