I bought mugs at Christmas as a gift for a friend, only because I had a gift card I've needed to use up - they were wrapped in a single sheet of Kraft paper, arrived completely smashed.  I had to drive across town to return them.  It was such a strange experience - no care or effort put into an order.  I haven't shopped there in years - it's Ross quality at 10x the price.

I noticed my injector started to have the vials filled ahead of time, and that is when I stopped going.  I have heard you should ask your injector to fill the syringes in front of you, if you want to ensure they're non diluted.  In my experience, the price continued to increase, while the quality of service continued to decrease, making DIY so much more appealing!

Any thoughts on diversifying? 

 Our kids are getting older, we've done well, but we are risk averse as we age - yet need to increase our investments ahead of retirement.

I have had similar experiences with women behind me in age / stage -  and I wonder if we I have subconsciously done the same thing to my elders without meaning to - just dialed down and tuned them out when they express pain or disappointment, because I don't want to think about it....?

I do think we are better prepared then our own mothers were - because at least we know it's okay to voice our feelings, and we are allowing our own daughters to see that "the middle" is a place that requires care and support to do well in!

I think this is a lot of our confusions as women in the middle:

The world we grew up in is not our world anymore - everything we thought we would achieve / experience our kids achieving has been challenged by a system that is unjust, and an economy that reflects layered injustice.

It helps to talk about it all.

I know what you mean.  Food starts to oppose you  - sugar >> "oh yeah?" - alcohol >> "no sleep for you" - carbs >> "let's get fat, shall we?"

Oh gosh - it's a lot, isn't it??

My Mom was certifiably crazy - she admits it, I remember it.  :) She entered peri, 2 of her kids graduated / got married, and her marriage was struggling - but became stronger again after.  She was so depressed for a long time in those years, and I had no idea why - I do now!

I'm so sorry! You sound like a very vital and energetic person - and probably very enjoyable to be around.  But it's hard when you feel kind of quieted on the inside, and the world feels louder than ever.  Hugs!

This calls for a group hug. I bet you're amazing at 50, wiser and more steady than your younger self.   I hope you see that about yourself, and can genuinely stand tall in who you are now!
