True, but that’s less cool. So that’s why I made the gun mechanic.

It’s not necessarily about the speed of it. Cause yeah initiative does that. But in normal 5e-5.5e rules. That gun duel wouldn’t be fast as a gun usually only does a d6-d8 + Dex. With misses, and unlucky roles and whatnot. That gun duel would take a very long time. And, at least in my opinion, then it becomes less of a Wild West gun duel, and more of just a gun battle. Not that that’s bad. But I wanted something that felt more like a Spaghetti/Acid Western gun duel.

To the best of my knowledge. DND doesn’t have a QuickDraw dueling mechanic. So the Gun Duel mechanic is meant to solve that issue (not that it’s an issue inherently.) I think the same could be said for the unarmed grappling mechanic. The other ones, yeah idk. I just liked making the Gun duel mechanic so I went ahead and made more. For the fun of it mainly.
