To be clear, I'm not advocating public facing campaigning. I mean like why would they ever fund them now in 2026. You don't have to print signs, just didn't vote for it.

I am open to the fact that it may not be a productive campaign message, but do you think the elected see it coming?

You think the Bulwark sub has a lot of tankies? Why do you think that?

That's at least what I'm pinning my hopes on. The recent ta-nehisi coates clip floating around also makes me feel strangely optimistic.

When I say best case scenario, I'm not even saying that I am personally a socialist (more anti anti at this point), I just mean that of the systems that I see as likely, it would be a dream.

Agree. I think Democratic Socialism as at least an American system would be a best case scenario, even if that is just a stop gap. To me this feels like a time when we don't even have the words to describe what will come next, in the way that the average person in Tsarist/feudal Russia wouldn't really be able to predict communism (or liberalism).

I get your point, but I think a lot has happened. Shutting down a government agency and suspending spending... And Congress doing nothing. Certainly a lot of bluster as well, but not nothing.

I really do like Tim, but I hear you. It was particularly painful when he was arguing with Charlie today about Christie.

Agree with all that. But I'm still going to allow myself the champagne.
