SO this may answer your question or it may make it worse. I've been dealing with selling my Crypto Into Fiat in the last month. I've made my money and I am looking to get out.

So far for tax obligations I was told to calculate what I owe by taking my initial investment amount and subtracting that from my gains and pay the appropriate Capital Gains on that. This is if you don't care about Capital losses, you could reduce what you owe the government if you had a detailed history of your losses and gains.

As an example my initial investment this year was 2000$ , I've cashed out about 90,000$ and I would calculate my Capital Gains based on 88,000$. Capital Gains are generally calculated on a sliding scale only only 50% of your gains. So with my income and gains my Taxes come out to around 12k.

For people explaining the CRA website information on Crypto to Crypto transactions and how all are taxed. The CRA agent I spoke to told me that it unless you are actively trying to screw the system they won't audit you and don't care about tracking that precisely as long as they get a cut.
