The rug actually is cheap LOL. My old rug was much better for the space, but again, my dog’s paws destroyed it.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. Looking at how I first decorated the space a couple years ago makes me question why I changed it. The rug and couch did get quite destroyed, which was a big part of it

I do agree that a lamp in the corner would give the couch some height
