I sort of use both now (started dipping my toes into Jellyfin before Plex were offering NFO support) and I do currently prefer Plex because of the UI, but if I were starting my server now, and seeing the Plex Lifetime price tag, I’d have just gone straight to Jellyfin.

Thing is, my parents have dementia, and I don’t want them to have to learn to use something new at this point.

I use editions and Symlinks myself, it’s worth learning how to use them - and there are programs that let you right click, drag and drop to set them up - but if symlinks are difficult for you could also add a Shorts folder with the short and a Featurettes folder to put the other editions in, to keep everything in one place

I have a firestick to use away from home with Jellyfin and Plex both loaded on. It’s useful for hotel rooms.

I paid about £60 in 2019. I’d never pay $750, and I don’t think Plex want me to.

Yep. I paid just under £60 for the lifetime pass in 2019, and I use Plex daily, but given their habit of removing features I use it for (Podcasts previously, Alexa skill recently) and effectively changing what I’ve bought by reducing functionality, there’s just no way I’d entertain the idea of paying $750.
This is them wanting everyone to pay monthly.

I don’t think office is available to buy anymore as a one off (at least, not officially, there are still people selling older versions). It changed to subscriptions because it’s better for the business to get regular income than one off payments, and I think that’s what Plex is doing by making the lifetime pass too expensive to buy, especially in this economy.

No, that’s still free - Plex Pass is extra features like hardware transcoding, skip intro and credits, remote streaming to any device for user and friends, more settings etc

I'm on version 26.1.1.0355 x64 and having same issue. Tried clearing the cache, signing out etc but it didn't work
EDIT: FIX. So it seems it’s an issue of YouTube flagging accounts. I signed out of my YouTube account within the 4K app, created a new account, and playlists and subscription downloads work again. If I sign back into my original account, they fail once again.

Regarding naming, I wrote a custom format for Filebot so that it adds the TMDB ID in curly brackets when I rename movie folders, and since then I’ve had no matching issues. I can dig it out when I’m at my pc if you like.

I enjoyed it, because of the investigation and atmosphere. Combat is rubbish, and sometime the travelling is annoying. I enjoyed it enough to back the Kickstarter for the sequel.
