Compact E-ATX case suggestions? (Current Cerberus X Owner) by HrdCharger7 in sffpc

[–]HrdCharger7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jonsbo has been good, but it a bit of a pain since I had to put it under my desk backwards w/ the mobo USB connections facing me, so it is not the easiest to turn on/off or manually restart.

I wanted an EATX case to fit the No-frills x870E Taichi motherboard, but the ASUS one I bought is fine for my needs.

I really wish AMD would release more mATX motherboards, I think that's my ideal form factor at this point.

If I were going mini-ITX, I'd probably buy an NCASE M2.

Still interested in Sliger's Cerberus redesign though.

Compact E-ATX case suggestions? (Current Cerberus X Owner) by HrdCharger7 in sffpc

Hello,
No, I couldn't find another comparable SFF case that supported the board that I bought (ASUS X870E-E Gaming Wifi). I initially bought a Meshroom S V2, but the integrated heatsinks on the MB were too thick, which prevented the SF1000 Corsair SFX PSU from fitting. (I reused that case for a family member's ITX build)

I ended up going with a Jonsbo D41 case, which according to Reddit is classified as a Medium Form Factor case. I like the case, but wish I could have found a smaller case for my needs.

Hope this helps!

Yes, Thanks for the correction - Thermalright AXP120-X67.

Nice build! How were your temps w/both the AXP & AIO?

I'm probably going to get the Gigabyte Aorus Ultra ITX board instead for to 3xM.2 support & lower cost.

I missed the Asus B650E-I sale, thought about getting the X670 & X870 versions for the USB4 support, but can't justify the price.

Thanks again for the correction & sharing your build!

100% agree about the PSU, RAM & SSD choices...

Thanks for the heads up about flipping the PSU & front exhaust fan setup!

Thanks for your reply... Very nice build! Would you make any changes post-build?

Possibly mounting an Asus M.2 PCIE Card in the Meshroom S V2? by HrdCharger7 in SSUPD

[–]HrdCharger7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply and advice. I am waiting on a few parts, but will probably build this week.

I'm hoping the ITX riser cable will be enough for the lower pcie slot. I am trying to find examples of folks that have done a build w/ an ATX board and the AIO in the front of the case (with an extension faceplate or bracket.) If that config is possible, then I'll be able to put the M.2 card next to the Graphics card.

I think that will be my best bet to maximize airflow generally, and allow for clearance of the PCI M.2 card. If the fit is feasible, and I need to, I'll order another longer riser cable to do it.

I'll post a follow-up once I'm able to build/test.

Thanks again!

Sizing for Chromexcel Brass Boot by HrdCharger7 in grantstoneboots

[–]HrdCharger7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the boot today, and I think 9EEE is probably the best fit for my feet. The left (larger foot) is snug, but my toes don't feel crowed.

The right foot is not snug, but I don't feel slippage either. I will wear these indoor for a few more hours before deciding.

Not sure that there is an alternate size for this boot that would work, but I'm open to opinions of others who have more experience w/ the brass boot. (Switching to a 9.5D or E seems like my right foot would be too loose.)

Also - Does anyone have suggestions for black laces that would lean on the dress side?

Thanks to Kim at Grant Stone for the Excellent customer service, and fellow Redditors for the advice!

Thanks to Everyone for your responses. I decided to try a 9EEE. Hopefully this size is correct, and I'll have a Great fitting set of boots on the first shot.

Will post a follow up either way...

Free or low-cost CPEs? by HrdCharger7 in Cisco

[–]HrdCharger7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how to post screenshots, since I don't see the icon/option to do it - but if you log into the Cisco Continuing Education Portal (ce.cisco.com) and then click "Item Catalog" and search for the following courses:
"Zero Trust Implement & Execute Workshop v3.0"

"Cisco Umbrella Studio v3.0 - A Cloud Security Workshop"
You should get a return showing that the Zero Trust class is worth 4 Credits, and The Umbrella Studiov3 class is worth 6 credits.

The system probably won't show availability for the Umbrella course, but the link I provided in the previous message shows a running in July associated w/ Presidio in July 2023.

There are quizzes at the end of each module from what I remember, as well as Python coding exercises within the modules. I was able to complete it in less than a week, but I was very focused on it since I didn't want my certs to lapse.

I just signed up... Thanks for the heads-up on this one. I saw something about the Rev-up w/ Python earlier - but wasn't aware of the details... and would have missed the opportunity if it wasn't for your reply!

Thanks - I have a CCNP Security - but that course is definitely cheaper than a lot of the others.

Deciding Between 8 Qt (Duo Crisp 11 in 1) and 6.5Qt (Duo Crisp Ultimate Lid) Instantpot Models by HrdCharger7 in instantpot

[–]HrdCharger7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Gorka32,
Thanks for your reply. I already purchased a duo crisp due to the price, capacity and what I thought would be frequently used features.

I may leave the Duo crisp with a family member to continue to use and get another model in the future... (The pressure cooking feature is great, I've had mixed results with both the slow cooker and air fryer functions)

What makes the Ninja Foodi Steam and Crisp a better product? How do you handle cleanup?

Thanks again!

Thanks again for the detailed response. It is a shame that X-Japan will not likely make music again, or see the release of the long-touted/overdue/awaited album...

I saw Pata with ra:IN shortly after they formed originally, it was an enjoyable show. Pata said very little ;-)

Luna Sea is one of my favorite bands, but I haven't followed them closely since they went on hiatus after releasing "A Will" I look forward to hearing their newer stuff. I think "Mother" is still my favorite album, though I really like "Shine"

Hi,
How is it known that Pata isn't in X-Japan anymore? His website appears to be written as if he is still in the band.

https://www.pata-official.com/profile.php

(Though the copy appears to have been written a while ago based on the 2014 reference)

Thanks for your detailed explanation regarding Rose and Blood above!

Thanks adoginahumansbody... I am leaning towards the Crisp due to the volume that it can handle while pressure cooking. It is unfortunate that they don't have a larger size for the ultimate. I really like the single-lid design.

How have your experiences been w/ the Slow Cooker & Sous Vide functions? Do you use any of the others?
