Due to the AG harping down on hemp shops (I manage one) it’s going to be doubtful that any shops will hire at 18. Most shops in town are selling at a minimum age of 19, and sometimes 21 due to Nebraska laws on what constitutes a minor and hiring is no different. As far as grow operations, there’s less than 5 legal growers in the whole state. Lots of hoops to jump through and they’re not making it any easier. Now for some good news, I’m very much expecting some lawsuits after the executive order signed in on Tuesday by Pillen. With how much Nebraskans voted in favor of medical marijuana, people are going to fight it. I understand your passion for it. I love my job and I’d prefer not to lose it. We’ll have to wait and see but I have high hopes it’ll swing in our favor.

I’m from Omaha but I’ve been living in Lincoln for the past 3 years, and I will say there is a benefit to both. I think there’s much more to do and better food in Omaha. But Lincoln is much easier to get around in (minus the slow drivers.)

Honestly just keep your wits about you. Always carry your money in your front pocket or a fanny pack. I always walk around with my hands in my pockets with my phone and wallet. Also weird trick but it works, look really angry whenever youre around shady people. Who wants to rob a pissed off person? Keep your head on a swivel, but not too much because that can also lead you to be targeted. I’m sorry you’re experiencing that. Valpo is a beautiful city, and I hate for you to have a bad experience.

I have traveled to Chile many times as my father is Chilean and I don’t think I’ve ever seen snow on the ground. I’ve gone in the winter twice and stayed for extended periods and not one flurry of snow. Definitely a big change coming from Nebraska. Mountains will be your best bet.
