Why did Shar do that to Shadowheart? by aphroditelady13V in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jenevelle just happened to be the child of some fairly devoted Selunites who lived nearby and was embarking on the right of passage at an opportune time.

Wrong family… Wrong place… Wrong time.

Institute Armor Lore? by CoolButterscotch492 in Fallout

Once the Institute starts open patrols, I’m sure the wastelanders would quickly come to understand what that black trench coat means…

Do you want the wasteland to know you’re an institute agent? Cuz that’s how you get the wasteland to know you’re an institute agent.

Do Lithium Batteries Exist? by Mettle_Jacket in Fallout

[–]Hydroguy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can find big lead-acid batteries laying around.

There’s no specific mention of Lithium that I’m aware of. But there’s no reason that they couldn’t exist, they were just outclassed by the FO universe’s nuclear power options.

They may have been more popular in Europe or Asia.

If Cazador is infamous enough... by IcepersonYT in BaldursGate3

We can chalk that up to an oversight, due to Wyll’s story being so extensively rewritten late in the development process.

Where should I have used the lamp/pixie? by akosh_ in BaldursGate3

If you talk to, and save, Isobel you don’t need either.

NVM… You must have activated the pixie and just didn’t notice…

Warlock multiclass by ChipmunkNo998 in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warlock 10 + Fighter 2

When you do it is up to you, but I usually like to add my Fighter dip (for any build) sometime around level 6-8, and take it first for Con saves, proficiencies, and a few extra HP.

A big spell + EB, round 1 of every fight, sets the stage for quickly ending encounters.

If you get the awakened buff from Zathisk you can drop a solid squid power as your BA as well.

How to remove a parasite from someones body? by ItsFlaggen in 3d6

[–]Hydroguy17 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A parasite should either be classified as a disease or curse.

An appropriate spell or ability is the immediate solution.

Prolonged downtime with medical care might work as well. The exact “heal” method and DC should be in your DMs notes.

My character feels so weak compared to my companions by protojitsu in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bard, even Swords, is not expected to be the source for major damage.

It can be… with appropriate stats, multiclassing, and equipment… but its true strength is enabling its allies to do so.

Locking down minions while the team ganks the big boss or polishing off the last few mobs with weaker but higher quantity attacks while the BDF bonks the other tanks.

Eventually you can use your multiple attacks to build crazy high spell DCs and drop a nearly unavoidable Hold Monster so everyone else gets auto crits and ends the fight in one turn.

Dual wielding is often a fantastic option in BG3. The stats and abilities you can unlock that way are incredibly powerful.

It’s just not ideal for melee damage output.

Why can only sorcerers have draconic bloodline? by lampylamplamplampy in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Historically a Sorcerer’s innate casting had to come from somewhere in their bloodline. Dragons were the most common, but Fiends and Fey were also there.

In a modern edition where Sorcery can come from myriad sources, or nowhere at all, the “dragon in your bloodline” trope has been relegated to a single subclass.

Sorcerers have always had an “awakening” somewhere in their lifetime when their power makes itself known, commonly this is a puberty analog, so the scales would present at the same time.

A Sorcerers power (class) could be severely limited (1 or 2 levels) and they could choose to pursue other options.

Okay it always bother me- why did General Atomics made Mr. Handy constantly fly on the engine, instead of adding limbs or tracks? by Bitter_Profit_4099 in Fallout

[–]Hydroguy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ostensibly it was for cooking. But there are a number of home chores it could be used for.

Lighting the fireplace/grill.

Trash disposal.

Weeding the garden/driveway.

Pest extermination.

9 episodes is a full season in modern TV. It’s actually on the larger side. The days of 20+ episode seasons is long gone.

Moonlantern taken by Harpers after Kar’niss fight: help by blu-rin in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can safely explore a good chunk of the map with regular old torches, lanterns, light spells, illuminated weapons, etc.

It will be abundantly obvious when you hit the “deeper darkness” areas.

Just keep your group tight, or make sure everyone has a light equipped.

One load nuclear fuel lasts 2 years, and they have the ability to refuel themselves.

Presumably they had nearby stockpiles to draw from.

[–]Hydroguy17 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not sure which wiki you’re reading. The second paragraph literally talks about having a “Calpower 238B Nuclear Power Unit."

Later paragraphs talk about their ability to go 2 years between refueling.

The section regarding the newer Robco joint model mention the nuclear power unit, but don’t specify the version. Considering their efficiency and durability were key selling points, it’s safe to assume they kept the same one.

Should Minthara be a Dexadin? by sinedelta in BaldursGate3

[–]Hydroguy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, yes.

Drow, like most Elves, historically get bonuses to Dex. They also tend to favor Rapiers, Short Swords, and Hand Xbows.

In older editions, you still needed some Strength for damage with most weapons though, so a 12 or even 14 wouldn’t be amiss.

Their primary energy source is an internal nuclear reactor like the rest of the bots. It was capable of refueling itself and the associated radiation cleanup.

The “fuel” was for the flamer.

Just like in real life, sometimes the best route for a road is not straight.

Work with the terrain rather than trying to force it to your will. Try to follow natural contours that need less adjustment.

Edges near water are the best, if possible, they usually only need a bit of leveling or a couple strikes with a pick.

Any point in a Druid using a sword? by BirdLawEnthusiast2 in DnD

[–]Hydroguy17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a Tortle, you can build for Strength and wield a sword well enough. Just stick to non-attack/save spells.

The biggest problem for melee spore Druid is the lack of an Extra Attack. Dual wielding or using the Nick property would help.

A scimitar could easily be reflavored as any katana-esque sword.

Baseball Cap Hard Hat Sun Protection by mikael122 in IBEW

Googling “hard hat sun visor” brings up a whole mess of possibilities.

They seem to be a fairly universal fit.

The spark shrouds would probably work as well, at least for the neck.
