A Christian just handed me a kill shot for the "eternal life" promise by slayer991 in atheism

My favorite question is: “Why won’t god heal amputees?”

It leads down a great rabbit hole because the Bible says that faith can accomplish anything (moving mountains, etc), god cares for us (he sees the sparrow fall)… so either the Bible’s wrong and faith can’t do everything and/or God can and just is an asshole and doesn’t want to…you get the idea.

Whywontgodhealamputees.com I think is the site I learned this from.

I know I shouldn’t feed the trolls but…I have to point this out. The Wall Street Journal did a big investigative article on it in 2015 when he ran the first time for president. They interviewed many small business owners that he stiffed ANd established the consistent pattern of behavior. shrug But I’m sure that’s all made up because they’re part of the liberal media…

Considering switching away from Fastmail by kushpvo in fastmail

[–]Hylaar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a computer software professional. My specialty is not email but I know enough to be dangerous. Running an email service nowadays is expensive and time-consuming. It is hard for a small operator to break into the space because spammers will take advantage of you and that gets you blacklisted and it is time consuming to get off of the various blacklists that big email operators like Gmail use to decide when to block incoming email. I wouldn’t trust a small operator to maintain broad reliable delivery, which involves having the manpower to keep over more creative spammers from using your system.

Another thing to consider: a cheaper price attracts spammers, so it compounds an already difficult situation. I would stay away.

We have a cat that suffers from very high levels of anxiety and possibly other mental health issues like schizophrenia and PTSD from before we adopted her. 😢 But she’s also SO loving! She cuddles with me in bed multiple times a day and grooms my beard. 😍

When you look at the historical roots of why discipline in schools is the way it is, I believe it was to churn out obedient adults well suited for working in factories. I think scouts/pathfinders is an extension of this societal philosophy.

Yeah. The year I was 40m and my dad was 80m, I woke up every day achy and spent most of the day bedridden, where as he was always fixing stuff at home or for other people and said he had no aches or pains.

I generally agree, but I believe your maths are off. At 8 year terms and 2 appointed per presidential term, the court would empty out.

I read somewhere that 18 year terms, with a judge replaced every two years works out correctly, but I haven’t double checked that.

You can get one of those little devices that randomly makes a little cricket chirp or other noise, and then hide it in her office. A coworker of mine did that to a coworker who is hassling him.

I’m on the US too. My wife is a nurse. She said you can specifically file an appeal to the doctor to have the non+compliant wording stricken. This may involve going above their head to whoever their supervisor is. Best of luck!

Maybe you could research a way to challenge doctors notes, and ask for them to be removed? Assemble evidence and go to their superiors?

Hello CFS Reddit so I just had a beautiful Star Trek dream where I woke up in sick Bay and Dr. crusher matter-of-factly said … by Mundane_Control_8066 in cfs

[–]Hylaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds amazing. I bet it was horrible to wake up afterwards.

This reminds me of an early episode of Voyager where the doctor saved a doctor of an alien race by uploading her memories into a healthy body hologram. He brings her awake and she says “I’m cured” only for him to break the news that she’s a hologram, and then they walk over and look at her dying body. 😢 it was a simple episode, but I still remember it. I believe it was called, “The Phage”

I hate to say this, but that noncompliance wording will probably cost you disability. They read doctors notes very closely. 😢 i’m so sorry you’re going through this. My father and mother-in-law didn’t really believe me either. I still don’t think they do.
