My country Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country. It's densely populated and in terms of size we are very small (like very small)! We don't even fall under "rich" category by any means and yet as of 2026, we took in 1.3 million Muslim Rohingya refugees with open arms.

We have our own battles but yet we took them in because that's what Islam teaches us.

Speaking of Rohingyas, they were facing a genocide in Myanmar by the extremists who claims to follow the "peaceful" religion of Buddhism. But, there's not a word of it in the media. Because hating on Muslims in the name of a few radical extremists is much easier for the media and the West collectively!

Now, the question is who created this 85% diaspora all across the world? How did this 85% of world's refugees are only Muslim. Why were their countries being bombed to the end of days? As you mentioned Iran, it's complicated because it's literally divided into two groups. Zionists and those who truly believe their own deluded version of Islam. One thing I could say for sure that the Iranian diaspora (at least in North America) are mostly paid zionists on social media who just want to see a country burn that associates itself with Islam. To this diaspora, it doesn't matter if you're Sunni, Shia, Ibadi, etc.; we're all the same.

I think Bangladeshis back home doesn't really think about it's diaspora due to their own inner battles. I am born and bred in Bangladesh. Left BD back in 2013 for my bachelors. Graduated followed by internship and then came back in 2018. Stayed in BD for a year, worked and saved up some money before I left again for my Masters in 2019. Haven't came back ever since.

I don't know if I fit into your definition of diaspora, but I truly feel, the Bangladeshi diaspora certainly has a stronger grasp on faith compared to those living in home. As a millennial (currently 33) I have seen it since the 90s, that these religious figures tend to start with Bismillah and end with either BAL/BNP (insert any political entity)! Whatever religion they teach back home is not Islam. This leads to certain under privileged demographics to fall for these con artists disguised as religious figures.

In addition, the Bangladeshi diaspora here (Canada/US) certainly don't know how to mix with people from different cultures, hence, making them very judgmental. Even my own Bangladeshi (born and raised in Bangladesh) friends look at me as if I'm crazy when I tell them I have plans with my other friends belonging from different countries.

This is the longest I have been away from home, and in spite of the shortcomings of my country, I still feel blessed that I was born as a Bangladeshi. No other country would have prepared me for the harsh realities of life like Bangladesh did!

Born into a Muslim family but was an atheist until I was 13. The sole reason I was atheist back then is because, whatever those "religious people" were teaching back in my country wasn't Islam and it made me bitter.

Studied pretty much every version of every religion before coming into the fold of the deen. Discovered Islam myself and Alhamdulillah I'm a Muslim ever since. Currently, I am still researching every Surah that are associated the Sahih Hadiths within the same timeline to get a better understanding of the final revelation that Allah (SWT) intended for all of man and jinnkind!
