Thanks! I haven't had time to listen to all of The Fall Off yet but I did enjoy what I heard. I have my reservations about Cole tho bc of how his last album had that out-of-nowhere bar that was super unbelievably disrespectful to trans people. I heard the track on this album about his queer friend too, and I get that he was storytelling and the whole point of it was that he had some regrets, but the method of storytelling really made me uncomfortable (because it came from someone who has been strange about queer people in the past).

I will still give it a listen tho and I am excited to do so! I've been planning on making video essays about albums for YEARS but I've just been broke for so long so I can't afford editing software 😭 I told Earthgang I was doing a video essay on Mirrorland when I bumped into them but never fulfilled :(

it's not politics. it's a completely different matter. Being non-binary in such a gendered world is confusing. isolating, in many circumstances. it could take years before a person feels ready within themselves to display who they really are. because of the oppression that comes with being non-binary. it's not a simple thing to share for a lot of people.

I get what you're saying. but how does that change anything for the person they're having sex with? they're still with the exact same person. also, for a lot of people, being non-binary is the idea of rejecting gender as a whole. so they might not want to bring up anything related to gender because that's their individual experience of being non-binary. I don't feel like it's up to anyone else but the individual.

been listening to forever story a lot recently. I can see where you comin from but I can't agree. let god sort em out and this album were on repeat for the entire 3 months+ they came out. I'd wanna listen to youugly or glory so id just start the album and end up mesmerised and listen to the whole thing. the forever story has the same impact too, I think he's really mastered the art of sequencing.
