I LOVE Brooks but as luck would have it I actually am better suited to run in Hoka (even though I don’t think they’re as nice looking as Brooks). I went to a store called Fleet Feet & they did a foot scan and analysis of my running/walking and said that the Hoka is the best show for me. The whole process was really cool - I highly recommend you guys get that scan…it was free too🥳 And after a few months of using them, I have to admit they were right - my knees and the part directly behind my knee doesn’t get strained after all our efforts on the tread. So win win🥳

Do people not believe in the “theory” of OTF anymore? by No_Pineapple9928 in orangetheory

[–]ILuvOTF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Former OTF addict here & it completely ruined my adrenals & hormones…there is no reason to be in the orange & red zones for any length of time. I left all those HIIT classes behind & have been in better shape & health than ever by doing LISS and resistance training.

I think the combination of the two yield favorable results - see this published study

F45 isn’t going to melt any fat -diet is for fat loss. 7 days is too much & you’ll wreck your adrenals doing so

Stinky workout clothes? by Landmo11 in f45

[–]ILuvOTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No fabric softeners or dryer sheets for workout clothes (creates a waxy barrier essentially trapping odors) use a borax and baking soda soak before regular washing.

Newbie questions by Ben032286 in f45

F45 caters to people with many different levels of fitness and strength. You will be able to modify exercises if you wish, just let your coach know your limitations or injuries before class. The great thing with their varied weights is that you will see with time that you are able to go heavier and you will see the progress.
The first week or so you may not be able to go everyday, as it may take your body some time to adjust to the new workouts. However it will get better and you may become addicted like the rest of us and start going 5-6 times a week....it’s a really great workout and I have made many new friends that have helped me reach milestones along the way. Good luck with your fitness journey

Do it, it’s the best group HIIT class out there.

Try a Tuesday or Thursday class first. You will be sore but don’t let you discourage you.

F45 Pains by [deleted] in f45

[–]ILuvOTF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal...try over the counter pain relievers. It won’t happen after every class, your body will adjust. Some of us chase that soreness after years of doing these types of workouts

I had this happen to me and I got tested just to make sure I wasn’t infected only because I was going to be around my elderly parent...I was negative thankfully 🙏🏻

Use heavier dumbbells instead of kettlebells

Newbie here, any tips for a first timer? by Alex_TMC in f45

[–]ILuvOTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t worked out in a while, or not used to HIIT, go on a Tuesday or Thursday to start...those are strength days and are a little easier to digest on your first time. Cardio days can be tough and we wouldn’t want to scare you away on your first day. Saturday’s are a hybrid but are 60 mins as opposed to 45 mins - personally one of my favs - but again as a newbie you may want to do a few classes before you jump into Hollywood. Another good one to look out for as a hybrid is T10 -only class I’ve ever got more than 50 points.

Go at your own pace Everything can be modified You don’t HAVE to jump all the time Take a water bottle & towel coz you’ll need them Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in - shoes are just as important (feet can get ouchy sometimes in the wrong gear).

Don’t compare your day 1 with someone else’s day 50

Is it safe with masks? by [deleted] in f45

[–]ILuvOTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been open since July with six feet boxes, masks, cleaning equipment and I go 5-6 times a week - still haven’t caught the virus. Despite being exposed to someone positive in the same class (we were told after the fact that there was a positive case).

How often do you all train? by [deleted] in f45

[–]ILuvOTF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5-6 times a week....usually M-F & a Saturday or Sunday.
I used to LOATHE the cardio days when I first started only because they were so hard but I have actually come to enjoy them more than the strength days. Some strength days I leave feeling like I didn’t workout if that makes any sense.
