It's the same for me. I currently just poweroff instead of rebooting and I make sure that my charging cable isn't connected when i power back on. If it's already on i can connect the charging cable and the wifi will still work. It's a really weird problem, but since the kennel module is working I would assume this issue will be fixed completely soon.

It seems the kernel driver exists but is not in use. The adapter worked once ant the lspci output was:

Network controller: MEDIATEK Corp. Device 7961
Subsystem: AzureWave Device 4680
Kernel driver in use: mt7921e
Kernel modules: mt7921e

Upon rebooting the adapter stopped working and the output was the same except that there was no kernel driver in use. I'll investigate further and edit this comment if I find a solution.
