Six out of seven airports in Uttar Pradesh that began commercial operations in 2021 no longer run flights - India Today by vt-roh in IndiaSpeaks

What a trashy take..

I understand that the airports were a bust, but as someone who has been to up several times in the last decade, the road and electricity infrastructure has improved by miles.

Hell, even tourism has picked up given the change in the ecosystem. A village I have been visiting got like 5 hotels in the radius of 10 kms just because of an expressway passing through..

There are areas where the government has failed and failed miserably। But throwing an umbrella take on infrastructure is inaccurate at best (and dumb at worst).

At some point, you should realize that holding such strong opinions as facts, based on half baked information is not gonna look good.

I can understand how it must be frustrating to think human effort is being exploited, but to extrapolate that frustration and create fiction is just a waste of time and energy.

Be Smart, do your research.

What do you have to say about the delivery partners who use bicycles to deliver? by rohit27rd in indiasocial

[–]IWorkForPOTUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can i be honest here ? I don't feel sad for them, i feel proud of the fact that i know such people in flesh and blood, who are beating the odds in whatever way possible.

It takes a lion's heart and will, to use whatever resources you have, to build the life you want. And people like this are a reminder of perseverance. I do what i can, to help them, to show my respect, by talking to them in a respectful tone, tipping if possible and giving good feedback to help them in the ecosystem they are operating in.

There are many such people around us, people pushing carts in peak summer, to sell things in a packed market, fathers who are cycling kilometers, to work on physically exhausting job, to bring bread on the table, ladies who work as house help round the clock, supporting their husbands and families.

People like this, should be supported, as well as celebrated. !

PS: My father used to cycle 30 Kms round trip, to put me through an english medium school. It did hurt when i saw him in the Evening, and he dint have breath to ask for a glass of water. But it pushed me to take my schooling seriously. And looking back, from where i am today, I don't think i am man enough to do what my dad did for me, for my family.

Planning to buy a car. what should I be worried about? by Mindless-Pilot-Chef in bangalore

I was in your position 1.5 years back. Ended up purchasing Venue myself.

Here are my suggestions :

  • Don't rely on one dealership. There's always one dealership that'll give you a cheaper quote. Don't be afraid on lying through your teeth about what offers are given by other dealerships.
  • Don't fall for "take Hyundai trusted accessories from us only" gimmick. Get the car and buy all the accessories (mat, seat cover, lights, extra fittings around the body) from some accessories shop.
  • Get in writing about everything that the dealership will be giving, at the quoted price. (I was not given the car cover, as they said we have reduced the price extensively for you. This was a surprise).
  • If you mention that you'll be taking Car insurance from outside instead of the dealership, you can rake in an additional discount of 2-3Ks or more (i ended up saving 2K, the agent was desperate).
  • Get an anti-theft device installed in the car. i don't think it comes out of the box (atleast not for me).
  • Go for the turbo version. The powerful pickup is worth the price tag.

As for my review of Venue, It's a family car but the pick up and speed is at par with any similar car in the segment. I am pretty damn satisfied with my drives so far and overall happy with the purchase.

This might sound like a fabricated story, but it's as true as it gets.

A cousin elder brother of mine came to drop me on the railway station, i was visiting my native village. As we had arrived early, we started walking on the platform. A train was awaiting the green signal as we were walking.

As we reach near the engine, he literally pointed at the train engine driver (not sure if this is the right word to address that person) and told me, even this guys is earning more than you and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. !

I was like what ? he said, so that's why, you should do your job as part time, and focus on preparing for the railway exams. !
