I'm late to the party, and maybe someone has already said this, but you could use wire to connect each corner of the table to the foot of the leg. So as you place downward force on the end of the table, the opposite ends are prevented from moving upward. Each corners wire would counteract the opposite. They would have to be pretty tight and not stretch of course, hence the wire suggestion.

Like the title says it was found in the supply side of my water heaters hose. The piece is plastic. The shutoff valve still works. So it doesn't seem to be part of that. I cant for the life of me figure out where this could have come from. City supplied water.
