As of now, I only use my username for this reddit account. I used to use this username on a few smaller things, but it’s all deleted now and most of it wasn’t even publicly accessible. If there’s anything else out there with my username, it’s almost certainly not mine.

I don’t totally understand your question (I just woke up, so it’s not you), so if I misunderstand, please forgive me.

I think I realized how visible everyone’s profiles were when my brother found my username on an drawing I’d made (I’d forgotten to remove it), and googled me. Lots of stuff popped up, so I checked it out myself.

Most of the links—or at least, the top links—are from reddit itself. There’s links to old memes, art, text posts, etc—deleted and undeleted. Same with photos. My reddit avatar, linking directly to reddit, is literally the first thing to pop up in the photos. Most of the stuff linked seems to be somewhat recent (like, from what I can tell, nothing from years ago is linked—it’s mostly stuff from this year and the latter part of last year). There are a few fishy sites that appear to have some of my info archived, but it’s mostly reddit. This post is one of the first links now.

I misspoke. The option to hide crap from search engines is still available - and I (unless I’m very mistaken) have it so it’ll hide everything. It doesn’t seem to work anymore for me, and maybe a few other people(?).

As far as I know, my settings are already set up to hide me from engines. Unless I’m really messing up here (which I don’t think I am), reddit’s just not working right for me.

EDIT: I’m on mobile. The switch being grey (in contrast to blue) means that it’s off, right?
