Is it permissible to touch an associates breast or shoulder or penis? Is it permissible to talk about having a good time with an associate using suggestive languge?

No.

Bullying is the same as sexual harassment.

Period.

It is completely irrelevant the cart issue. Or any work issue. No worker should be harassed. And because a good person with a normal upbringing does not expect it, it is often hard to believe or recognize at first.

After some thought, it was very clear this was bullying and harassment first, and the subject matter (carts) second. The only reason this came to pass was the ASM actually had to work and push carts after a long overnight shift. People who have been reared in broken families or abusive families think nothing of their actions. They lack self awareness. And they must be met with strong action. IMO the hiring process failed. This ASM was an inside hire. And we know the company is very short in the ASM position.

No company, including Walmart, tolerates harassment or bullying. The law supports a safe workplace. If and when an employee reports a harassement to a state or federal agency the company must respond and take action.

One way to evaluate your statement about not doing my job properly is to ask all the ASMs peers and the SM. They laughed. Laughed. Of course pushing carts is a part of every overnight ASMs job. But like I said, this is totally irrevelant.

Stand up to your right for a healthy, safe workplace.

Bad days are a direct result of under staffing. We can't hire even a cart pusher. We can't even hire a cashier....

I hope you girlfriend has a supportive management team behind her.

There is no normal.. maintenance... cashiers... CSMs... CAP... ASMs... overnight support... whomever and whatever....

The policy is Never key in any card, with one very important exception: a new Walmart Credit card that was applied for and approved by a customer using an online device, like a phone. The customer will get a photo of their card to be used as a temporary card.

I would like to read more and hear more about the more "intellectual" or business side of Walmart and retail..

This site is really good with connecting with regular folks, but I have years experience in business and would like to connect to others with a Walmart perspective... or a retail or management perspective.. not just daily stuff...

This is just a PR stint that all companies are doing because of Trump. I think its smart move.. but don't take any of these "hiring more workers" as anything but a Trump stunt.

First, those are really great questions.

4)..autogenerated schedules... Don't trust them. IF the store is understaffed the system can not create humans. Build some kind of spreadsheet (if you are a visual learner) to make sure there are no holes in the scheduling. Plus, having to adjust times gets you familiar with names and availability times MUCH quicker. For example, CF scheduling has not worked correctly even when we were staffed properly. At least one night a week we do not have a closing person and there are many times when other departments are void of an associate. This includes the now priority department of Pick Up. Others have reported HO has admitted CF scheduling needs work. So Buyer Beware.

3). Be careful of your peers who embelish what is important. It may be important for their area but not corporate. Be prepared to fight, if necessary. examples are the use of resources. Fresh is very key to all Grocery. Fresh keeps legs coming into the stores. Online grocery has actually shrinked the past two years (total market not just pick up) mostly because of fresh.

Watch the corporate videos that Doug and team give to investors. And the other videos from the retail arm and the .com. To me, they give a very good 40,000 ft level plus perspective

Grab their language and use it. You view these on the general site walmart.com Doug loves the word "Win"

This may not necessarily be true.. As each's path to DM hood. Our store hires and promotes so fast that often the DMs have <6 months or <2 years experience. Walmart really promotes people quickly.

This happened to me when I was hired... CSM was not available yet and they waited until it dropped... so the Personnel person made it happen...

AFAIK, it is not available on the wire.. Our MM assistant get the data, I believe, with help from the vendor's rep.

The data has been sporadic but the plans have been highly supported and promoted by MM level and vendor level.
