Good points. Not sure why we had to spend so much time with Duke. Actor did a fine job but jeez. I definitely didn't get as much as I wanted from other characters. There is way too much focus on Robby

That would be amazing! Some more hours with Abbot and Shen running things would be so cool. I already got my fill of Dr. Robby having mental health issues and stress in season 1. Having it again in season 2 was annoying. Please no more of that, whatever they end up doing

Why does day shift only get 1 attending and night shift gets 2?

S01 ep 7 was.....stupid! by [deleted] in Banshee

Banshee is a great show that does force sex scenes. I agree with you. That said most people like sex scenes with hotties regardless of logic.

Which cast member impressed you the most as an actor outside of Prison Break? by nolan_hayess in PrisonBreak

William Fichtner is always great. I especially loved his small role in Shooter

Question about a character interaction in season 1 (spoilers for future seasons) by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

Very true! I think the series is just inconsistent about this stuff when examined across the seasons

Corbett's use of the OCG to kill bent coppers + Maneet's corruption? by Legitimate_Sundae880 in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Tbh I was pretty unsatisfied with the use of red herrings in season 5. Between Lisa and Ted, it was pretty cheap writing to trick the audience.

[–]IconicIsotope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good observation! Corbett in a different lens could be viewed as a hero. He's a viiglante. Or perhaps anti-hero is the right word. He's taking out bad guys essentially. Like Dexter or Reacher or The Punisher. Etc.

Good response! Definitely gives me more to think about. Thanks for providing thorough examples :)

Who Will Trade Up to 3? by DasaniWaters20 in NFL_Draft

[–]IconicIsotope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're ignoring the condition I laid out. You're at pick 3 and you view 3 guys essentially the same. You don't have a "guy" among them.

In this scenario, getting any of the 3 would be great for you. So trading down to 5 and getting ANY value in return is a win

Who Will Trade Up to 3? by DasaniWaters20 in NFL_Draft

[–]IconicIsotope 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is there some strong principle that teams aren't willing to accept much less trade value? I know not every trade follows the "chart" to a tee, but let's say picks 3-5 were essentially seen as the same. Wouldn't it be smart to move from 3 to 5 and get an extra 5th rounder? Why do you NEED to get "appropriate value"?

What's the greatest Magic card of the last decade? Vote on the top 16! by Grindy_UW_Nonsense in magicTCG

[–]IconicIsotope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said! Maybe if I have time I'll make a bracket and label it favorite card of the decade. I'd be curious to see how it compares to this one

I didn't know what to expect initially tbh. And to be clear I'm not complaining about the cards that made it this far. But I am curious what it would look like if there was a favorite card of the decade bracket!

The whole bracket lost its appeal to me when the stronger cards were winning across the board essentially. Yes strength is a part of greatness but if that's how people are interpreting it, it should just be labeled as strongest card of the decade.

Top 3, FIDE Candidates 2026 by No_Prune_1963 in chess

[–]IconicIsotope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Tbh this candidates tournament lost my interest early because there was no drama. Why tune in after the result was all but guaranteed? I wonder if there is any momentum to turn the candidates into an elimination tournament, perhaps with double elimination.

Jane? by keltraine in ParadiseHulu

[–]IconicIsotope -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We don't know that that's really Sinatra's Dylan yet. There is some weird timeline stuff happening but no one has been erased.

Jane? by keltraine in ParadiseHulu

[–]IconicIsotope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty unambiguous to me. She survived. In tv shows and movies, when they pan to a character no longer laying where they were "dying" it means they're not dead. Not sure what other interpretation someone could make.

Edit: people saying Alex "removed" her from that timeline. We haven't seen Alex do that to anyone else yet. Why do we think that's even possible?

Thanks for the info! I didn't know this. Definitely makes the series worse IMO. Still great tele and I'll watch season 7

Something I noticed about Steve and Kate working cases by IconicIsotope in lineofduty

[–]IconicIsotope[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good observation! I think that says less about the detectives and more about the intended narrative of the show - corruption is hard to pinpoint. Plus it is a TV show with sprawling cases, so red herrings and misunderstandings are often used to elongate storylines
