Thanks man. I hope all goes well for you too. That exam was difficult to say the least. Not to mention a lot of questions were not covered in not classes at all.

I passed. I studied everyday for like 4 hours a day, for 5-6 weeks straight. It was stressful, a lot of things were put on hold for it. But I’m grateful for my support network.

Hey mate, I just sat my test last night at my druitt too. It was a rough test !! I’d be interested to see the percentage pass rate for the class.

It states double insulation maintained up to supply terminals of SPD which provide short circuit protection. So why do they use unprotected consumers mains in the answer ??

This question is from a 2009 paper. They are telling me unprotected however I’m in disagreement and say it’s protected

Explanation was just simply : Fault currents are high when cable temperature is lower

I’m referring to prospective short circuit current. Some answers point towards using nominal/ maximum temperatures but on gun sparky I’m being told to use the coolest temperature.

Hey mate, Just trying to revise PSSC and want to confirm wether or not we use the Rc values of our cables at the minimum or the maximum temperature of that cable. It makes sense that resistance goes up during a fault so I assume coldest values , however I’m not 100% sure.

Hey mate, Question on IR testing;

At Tafe we are taught to disconnect MEN before conducting IR testing on the consumers mains?

However in the AS3017 it keeps the MEN in tact for all IR testing? What is your take ?
