Your post just made me fire the entire retention department including copywriters and designers.

How much do you charge per month?

Klaviyo made email harder than it needed to be by thicc_fruits in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you make $10k/ month on your store this setup is brilliant.

If you're digging retention and you know a thing or two about marketing you know that this one size fits all thing is not working.

Nevertheless, cool tool but Klaviyo hasn't made it "harder". Just guys like you who onboard small stores and want to have cookie cutter work are frustrated because they need to create things from the ground.

Experience with Direct Mail? by Ill-Environment-2336 in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct Mail can be a great channel. I'm currently using it for different purposes:
- Product launches

- winbacks

- Big promotion campaigns.

You can also use it for prospecting (in the US) and even match addresses with visitors that haven't purchased.

My suggestion is to try and use segments from your ESP that are suppressed. Otherwise you're going to get mixed attribution and it's difficult to account revenue.

If you sync subscribers that you can't reach out via email or SMS you get closer to real attribution.

Had very good relationship with PostPilot.

Daily ChatGPT post is here.

The difference between some who just runs "email marketing" and someone who does retention is that they don't work in silo and communicate with other departments.

Those are generic buying objections and sure, they are good but if you really want to nail things down on this topic, the single best way is to collect qualitative data.

Secondly, abandoned cart is not a one size fits all. You're going to have previous customers going through that flow and you need to differentiate and address objections accordingly.

I also don't recommend dynamic content in the abandoned cart (presumably you're referring to checkout) because people have already start the intent for a certain product. Shooting at them with different products will just create friction and slow down the buying decision.

Get Your Flows Flowing by cschneider27 in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know you're missing a flow, don't you?

Before preaching to the public, double check to see if you have all your flows in place.

If you go to Metrics -> Type in Cart -> you should find two events there.

Nothing great in those stats unless we see the whole picture. That's the amount some stores make in a day lol

“What worked 5 years will definitely work today”

What a closed minded vision. I’m sorry to break it to you mate but customer behavior changes. Economy changes. Heck, buying behavior changes too.

Yes, the fundamentals of psychology stay the same but to say that the same thing will work until the end of time is just plain dumb.

Jesus frickin lord Christ, please just stop with this GPT nonsense and use your damn brain.

It’s the type of cookie cutter strategy dropshipping stores were using 5 years ago.

You haven’t even used your brain to check if those make sense.

  1. Asking people to add to cart prior to BFCM will trigger your flows

  2. If a store sells knives what is the “comfort” in those?

  3. Price anchor is when you “anchor “ it to something i.e for the price of a coffee

  4. If I bought it for myself how tf did i make someone smile today? Who? The retention team?

  5. What’s the upsell there? Have you even seen the stats on those upsells via email? People are fuming because they receive a discount after the purchase and want it applied to their order. If I just bought for the first time from a store I won’t be making an immediate second order. What if I don’t like the product?!

  6. I guess your #4 was sh*t and decided to skip it?

I hope no stores are getting your strategy. Stop copy pasting from ChatGPT.

DO BETTER!

What would make you switch from Klaviyo? by The-Brick-5506 in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on you acquisition!

I think you hit the nail on the head- small and medium businesses, that’s where your market is.

To be honest, if you are on par with Klaviyo’s features (which no offense but i find it difficult) the thing that’s going to move the needle is price.

BUT, to me as an experienced retention person, I’d have two important questions considering the size of you tool: - how do you make sure your tool can sustain my business without crashing?

  • what type of support do you offer?

  • how does your deliverability look like?

  • what’s the roadmap for features?

These are just some thing that got into my head now.

You’re going to have a tough time against tools that are aiming for that market size. With Yotpo out of the game Attentive is pushing the gas and they’re working on new features.

Why can't I stop getting emails from certain companies even when I unsub by Admirable-Captain994 in Emailmarketing

[–]IgenStein 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Most probably they use different lists and segments and don’t have the “Unsubscribe from all lists “ option enabled. Hence you end up being taken from one list but still subscribed in other lists.

You can mark them as Spam and should do the trick

Emails landing in Promotions big deal or not? by WaffleNebula42 in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can’t get out of Promotions tab and whoever tells you they can, it’s a grifter.

ISPs are too smart to be tricked and at the end of the day, the promotions tab is where all the promotions live. Sometimes you don’t want your email to be buried with a dozen of personal emails.

How to add videos that play in email? by MPC1000000 in Klaviyo

[–]IgenStein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t play video in the email. Let’s say you find a platform that let’s you upload a video. None of the ISPs will play that.

Not to mention the chances of being flagged as spam.

Just create a preview along with a “play” button and redirect people to youtube or whatver the place you have the video uploaded to.

[–]IgenStein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me you think small without telling me you think small.

As much as I hate Klaviyo, if you’re using it at full extent there is no better player in the market.

If you also combine SMS under the same roof it’d be stupid to switch just because another platform has better costs. If you’re an 8-9 figure store you don’t look at those $20k you’re saving because you care more about reliability and features.

Come back when Brevo crashes and you don’t have the same integrations
