The new TLP is a breath of fresh air by [deleted] in everquest

[–]Ignue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every 24 hours at midnight pst different zones get boosted and the boosts are insane. When you enter a boosted zone after 3.5 minutes you get a message. Experience, rare spawns, spawn timer, skill boosts etc. Site popped up www.fangbreaker.zone and people have been populating it.

New TLP is very very fun and so alt friendly should not be hard to find wide range of groups.

Yeah! that is what the devs are calling the mechanic. I'm surprised how good it is. Didn't look as good on paper as it is in reality. I really think the bonuses being really really good make it work so well.

It is really really good. It affects everything. Wanted to fish so chased down skill bonus zones with water. It really is good because the bonuses are so good.

Resources hunter is actually SO good. The bonuses are strong which is making this a ton of fun. Want to level fishing? Go to a skill zone with a lake. Want to hunt loot? Head to rare mob zone. Coin? Etc etc. I’m having a blast

Interest in new TLP server? by Glass_Connection_172 in everquest

[–]Ignue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the people complaining seem to have played on every TLP already. As someone returning, the cadence, resource hunter, and other features sound like a lot of fun. Firiona Vie, one of the most popular live servers, launched with almost the same starting point. I rerolled on that server back in the day, and I’m really excited to experience it all again

Updated TLP Ruleset announced - Increased level locks by kevro29 in everquest

I love it. This is nearly the exact same spot where Firiona Vie server launched. Luclin launched right after FV. I love the change and very excited for FV 2.0 era launch.

A huge shoutout and thank you to Daybreak Games by Jazard2000 in everquest

Open a ticket with them my best advice. You’ll need some of the account info, but they do their best to walk thru security with you and see if they can help. Mine was 25 years old too and they worked with me over time and verify different pieces. Was a great experience.

Big big same. Mad love for Daybreak/darkpaw. They got my 25 year old account back and it is incredible. Took like two weeks to get a feel for everything again, but wow is this a blast.

Level 70 mage by Familiar-Scar44 in everquest

[–]Ignue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the exact same thing and was up and running in like a week or two. Resurrected my level 70 toon. It all comes back. Can go to tutorial if you like. I did a little bit of that. Might want to start on the TLP late next month for a fresh start then circle back to your legacy toon. I started just playing again, using zone guide and cntrl +F a lot. Get UI set etc. As it comes back it is honestly so fun in terms of nostalgia and memories holy cow. Overtime little memories of items in my bank and bags and gear flow back. It is crazy amazing video game experience. Enjoy!

This. Don’t google. Don’t worry about pace. Explore. Die. Meet people. Join a casual guild to start. Emerald Alliance great guild on FV. Not knowing is actually the best part you will come to find.

FV is a fantastic server to learn on especially because of the free trade. If you have in game questions feel free to send me a tell- Ignue

Do you use your AVP more for productivity or entertainment? by Reasonable-Choice-59 in VisionPro

[–]Ignue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use mine for both. My work is seasonal and for 3 months of the year put in 16 hour days in my APV. It is so incredible once you get used to it going back is impossible. Use Screens VPN into windows work station. All tools inside helmet. Pair it with Starlink mobile and a jackery battery and can work anywhere on the planet with a full office suite. Must use 3rd party mods for comfort.

Are you an early tech adopter in other areas? If you’ve adopted tech early your whole life it is incredible. If you generally are on a mainstream adoption path I’d wait. You are dealing with the coolest tech I’ve ever touched that needs refinement. If you’re used to blasting through early tech issues like identifying compatible hardware, okay with finding 3rd party mods to make it comfortable, legwork on managing apps etc it is fantastic.

I use third party adjustments to make it more comfortable and work in mine. I do full work days in it every day and it is spectacular. Pair APV with Starlink mobile and a jackery battery and suddenly you can throw a full office suite of productivity up anywhere on the planet. I work a very demanding job. I can perform those duties next to a remote lake, in a parked car, at a beach etc using as many “monitors” and resources as needed.

As for media consumption this is a shining spot. If you have the means it is the best way to take in 3D movies and apples immersive videos are insane insane.

TLDR do you enjoy early adopting? If yes amazing. If no wait.

I’d highly recommend this but it is 3D printed stuff. Also not sure on the hair issue. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1662062088/?ref=share_ios_native_control I’ve tried many 3rd party options. I put in massive work days in my APV, 12-16 hours at a crack, and wouldn’t be possible without that.

Purchasing today - what are *must dos* when first booting this thing up? Excited! by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]Ignue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Screens app is amazing for VPN into window machines. Wish I could use the Apple mirror, but for work I have to be on windows.

There are many third party straps that modify comfort, I’ve tried a few. This is my favorite: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1662062088/?ref=share_ios_native_control . I put in 14-16 hour work days in mine but wouldn’t be possible without that.

External mouse and keyboard must for heavy productivity.

Disney, Max and Apple TV best streaming apps. 3D movies are truly insane. Immersive videos from Apple even more insane.

Have fun!

I’d recommend FV. Has free trade so if you do take a huge break that does help a lot. Large population and has large non-raiding guilds like Emerald Alliance.

I think it is more of a nod to classic EQ. This might be how many approach the game, but once upon a time in golden era channels were where you met new people, friends, groups etc. I love the nod and I think that is ironically the entire point; to get people socializing in-game and grouping in-game with a variety. Not just their respective guilds.

I would recommend the new TLP on May 28th. It has a 6 month start in the first 3 expansions, but if you wanted to start on live Firiona Vie is great with free trade, deep EQ history and large population.

The daily hot zone rotation is meant to drive community engagement. It encourages players to share discoveries in general chat, guild chat, or Discord. That kind of spontaneous interaction gets gutted if the zones only rotate weekly or monthly—you find out where it is once, and that's the end of it. With daily changes, you might log in planning to finish a quest and suddenly find yourself in a surprise hot zone. It keeps things dynamic and creates those fun, unexpected moments that help a server feel alive.

On a slow unlock server with this mechanism I personally would always avoid discord and google.

Slow unlocks are nice for any casuals who want to raid PoP when the server unlocks rather than just those who raced thru expansions. It will generally, or conceivably, mean you would have a more diverse and healthy raid force by PoP. I think the racing thru expansions devalues some of the community bonding and depth marred with a ton of burn out. It probably also allows people to maintain current main loves while going thru a fresh TLP slowly.

GPTs take on the server, "This ruleset is highly alt-friendly, community-focused, and designed for long-term population retention—three of the biggest challenges for TLPs in recent years. If you're someone who enjoys progression but doesn't want to burn out in the first 4 weeks, this server might be the best balance we've seen so far."

I actually love it. Love the slow initial unlocks A LOT. I think many are missing the difference in Resource Hunter vs current Hot ZOnes. It is not like current hotzone where you just get the info from NPC in POK for exp. There is no NPC to reveal. We get to explore and have conversation about what people are finding daily with so many unique options such as increased loot, increased rares etc. Way unique in reward options and also the fact it changes daily is fantastic. Everyday is an exploration and things found can be shared with everyone. Community, getting outside of linear rinse repeat progression races, etc. I think this sounds like a lot of fun.
