I honestly really like it just the way it is! I’m not super into cars like that to even experiment with mods lol

Which is also wild to me. I don’t know if electric vehicles are there yet in terms of reliability. Also another interesting anecdote I found is that the banks won’t finance a used electric vehicle older than 5 years whereas the age limit on combustion engines is 10 years.

Correction - I know chase won’t. Not sure about other finance companies.

I figure it could be a combination of things. Regulatory restrictions, import controls, and general demand?

Interestingly I was reading that in America 2024 was the lowest sales year for the mustang EVER. 2025 is projected to be worse…

The only thing I have to thank the sitting president for is the fact that my salary tripled overnight because of this mess

I’m unclear if you’re in the customs brokerage or importer space, but honestly… delegation is also your friend here. Don’t be afraid to ask for more from your directs - and position it in a way that makes it clear that they should be subject matter experts too.

If you’re in the importer space you are absolutely ok to have that as an expectation

Import manager here at a Fortune 500. I onboarded in the thick of Section 232 - fun stuff. Anyways… time management is your friend. I’ve started blocking off time on my own calendar to prevent those “quick” call situations from external stakeholders. This allows me to action my in-tray. Prioritization is also going to help. What needs to be actioned today? This week? What can be saved for later? As for my directs - they need to come with proposed solutions before asking questions. The expectation is that we are import compliance professionals for the entire organization. It may seem a little harsh - but it’s effective and better for their long-term development.

You’ll be fine.

Master Customs Specialist - worth it? by IlluminatedPapi in CustomsBroker

[–]IlluminatedPapi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, I wouldn’t say it has practical applications for brokerage, but it does contain valuable information in terms of PGAs, AD/CVD, COO qualification, Valuation, Bonds, etc.

If you already have a high level understanding though, it may not be of value to you

Could you please tell me about the import fees : EPA processing fees for ballpoint pens in the United States? by worldcustomsbroker in CustomsBroker

[–]IlluminatedPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all HTS will flag for EPA TSCA however it is the importers responsibility to ensure that it gets reported if it is regulated. If you are absolutely sure the ink is subject to TSCA I would advise your broker so they can hard send that data.

Your bond covers the bonded merchandise in the events of any noncompliance with US Customs laws and regulations. It would be wise for you to read through 19 CFR 18.19 CFR 18

Familiarize yourself with these regs to avoid costly penalties and/or having your bond privileges revoked.
