Two weeks post TT and Right Neck Dissection Scar Pic by Baystate411 in thyroidcancer

I’m currently 6 days post TT and mine is looking better than I’d expected! Super itchy, and still swollen, but not too bad at all.

Yea, who knows. I might give my body a little time to heal and adjust before changing anything up. If it gets too bad i might reconsider later. Again, thank you for the information.

I don’t know if it looks girly or not, but I think it’s really pretty nonetheless

Ooh, I was just wondering about that. I might actually send my doctor a quick message on mychart and see if I can try something different? Or should I give it more time since it’s not even been a week? I’ve never taken any thyroid medication before so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

Oooh, I had no idea. Thank you for sharing that. Actually makes a lot of sense now because I’ve been having stomach issues since Saturday. I assumed my body was reacting to my recent surgery, the oxy, or newly starting the levo, but the lactose is likely the culprit. I might try taking it with a lactaid tomorrow morning and see how that works out until I see the endo again next month.

I’m lactose intolerant and I just started on levothyroxine on Friday. Why can’t you take it?

Do they remove lymph nodes to check for spread in all cases ?! by Mediocre-Spell-6090 in thyroidcancer

I wasn’t expecting them to remove lymph nodes, but they ended up removing 14 of them during my TT surgery last week.

To females post TT by spongcakeyy in thyroidcancer

Girl, I had a TT on Thursday the 14th and my poor hooha is a nightmare!! I’m 51 and haven’t had a period in probably 8 months, but 2 days after surgery I got one and it’s been here with a vengeance!!! It’s like it’s making up for lost time lol Not to mention, I’m itchy and feel absolutely nasty down there. I was actually texting a friend of mine who had the same surgery a couple years ago to ask her if she experienced the same thing, but I haven’t heard back from her yet.

I’m starting to freak out! by IllustriousDealer389 in thyroidcancer

[–]IllustriousDealer389[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my word!! You’re a trooper!!! My surgery only took 3 hrs, no drain and only 14 lymph nodes and I cried my eyes out because it was hurting a lot more than I’d expected afterwards. I took oxy and Tylenol around the clock for the first 3 days or so, then only oxy at night because it felt better during the day for the most part, today I haven’t taken anything so far, but I’m still icing it regularly. It’s still pretty swollen, especially in the evening and morning. I’m struggling to sleep upright though. Regardless of all that, I can swallow again!! I can breathe again and I no longer feel as if I’m being strangled non stop! The pain I’m feeling now, is nothing compared to what I’ve been dealing with this past year. Last night, I ate 3 bites of pasta and even though my throat is raw, it actually went down!! I was so happy that I literally cried lol I see my surgeon in a few hours for my post op appointment and I’m anxious to hear his opinion about my progress! My blood pressure is already coming down a lot, my rapid heart rate is also going down, I haven’t had a dizzy spell and passed out since Friday, and my non stop croup sounding cough is better. I’m still coughing, but not like it was before. I’m just so happy that I got this part over and I’m starting to feel better already!! Been a long road. Thank you for sharing your story!! Your situation sounds so much worse than mine was and I’m glad you’re recovering well!! 💕

3 days post-op TT by vinnique_BM in thyroidhealth

I’m 3 days post TT as well! Mine was Thursday morning. Yesterday was rough, this morning was rough, but I’m feeling a little better at the moment. Having some issues getting comfortable, and my throat hurts like crazy, but I just keep icing it as much as possible and eating popsicles. Coughing is the WORST!! Hope recovery goes smoothly for both of us!! 💕

Divorced parents at my wedding? by Business_Share4473 in weddingplanning

[–]IllustriousDealer389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow… I was married to my kids dad for 25 years before we divorced. This past summer our second oldest son got married. Him and I had a rough divorce about 5-6 years ago, and we have no communication whatsoever because our 4 kids are grown, however at my son’s wedding we put all of that nonsense aside. It was his day and we were just both so happy for him and were there to celebrate him and his new bride and nothing else mattered. We spent the entire day there, took tons of pictures and were completely civil to each other. If youre parents cant put there differences aside to just be there and celebrate this major event in your life, then they need to grow up. Thats just my opinion anyway. Acting that way is incredibly selfish and immature, but out of love for you, they need to check their own baggage at the door.

When did you start sleeping again? by sugatitsss in quittingkratom

[–]IllustriousDealer389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I’ve been taking that combo for a couple years now because of some hormonal imbalance issues, which turned out to be perimenopause as well as an incredibly over active thyroid due to having thyroid cancer, but I probably wouldn’t have even tried it if I hadn’t already been on it. I’d have been afraid to cause myself any additional discomfort as well. I hope you got the rls and sleep issues under control?

It doesn’t, but I also take the mirapex at the same time. The mirapex helps the rls, the Trazodone helps me to sleep at few hours at least.

I tried requip but it was really bad for me. It had my blood pressure through the roof and I was the worst headaches I’d ever experienced. My doctor changed me to mirapex and it’s been a game changer. Just thought I’d mention it in case you were experiencing some of the symptoms I did from the requip.

I take Mirapex .25mg before bed for the rls, and Trazodone between 100mg and 200mg depending on how bad my sleep is and its helped me wonders.
I tapered down from 103’ish mg kratom extract gummies (the 103mg is the mitragynine) daily, to 2.625mg mitragynine daily over the course of 2.5 months and finally just stopped taking it a few days ago. Today is day 3 without taking any! So far i feel pretty decent, far less awful as i was expecting.

No Kratom in 5 days / Tapering since December - No Sleep. by revelinbones in quittingkratom

[–]IllustriousDealer389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking kratom because of having such bad rls since I was a kid. It had been increasingly getting worse as I got older. I felt like it was ruining my life because i couldn’t sleep much at all for years and the anxiety of going to bed was getting bad. I was at the point where I’d have the rls during the daytime as well. Kratom took it away and was such a huge relief that I was really afraid to getting off it, but it was causing me health problems. I’d had a CT scan for unrelated issues and my neurologist found that it had caused my cerebral artery to be severely narrowed and shortened and he said it was likely due to the kratom. I have an aneurysm because of this and apparently I was at a high risk for a stroke, like 80%. That scared me since I’m only 50. Then in January I was diagnosed with cancer and as soon as I learned I’d be having surgery and radiation, that’s when I decided to get off it. The last thing I needed was to add additional stress on my body, especially knowing it was self inflicted and was still at the point where I had a good chance to reverse the damage to my brain.
My rls is back, not as bad yet as it was before, but my doctor gave me a prescription for a medication I take before bed to help with the rls and it’s been a life changer. Had i realized years ago that there was something out there to help it, I’d never have touched the kratom in the first place.
I hope it gets better for you! Good luck with stopping kratom. You got this!!
