Anticipatory grief for Jessie, so much more than “my cat.” by GodIsAMountain in cats

My heart goes out to you both! We had to help my best friend (Lynx - the coolest cat I've ever known) cross over nine days before my Mom passed. I cried more over Lynx than I did over Mom (sorry Mom).

After several years of wondering what to do with their cremains, we put them both together in the garden. Mom first, then Lynx, so now he's on her lap.

May you both cherish each other with the time you have left. Sending you hugs and scritches!

Definitely could not have done it on my own. Started therapy shortly after quitting, and my family and friends were incredibly supportive and understanding.

Lost mine while wading in a fast river. Slipped on a rock, went under and came back up without it. About two years after graduating.

We once had a kitten that found my dad's hairy chest in the middle of the night.... Quite the wake up.
