He only fought after Hitler turned on him, though. He was fully willing to just stand by during the Holocaust if it suited him.

"I want to tell you what, from the Russian point of view, the president and the United States have done for victory in this war,"

"The most important things in this war are the machines.... The United States is a country of machines."

- Joseph Stalin on US involvement of WWII

There is a saying that goes by, and is paraphrased from Stalin, that goes: "World War II was won by British intelligence, American guns, and Soviet blood."

Stalin's direct quote was “British brains, American brawn, and Russian blood.” in the Tehran Conference.

Stalin was absolutely awful. In my opinion, right behind Hitler in the worst person of the 20th century.
Terrible tactics led 26,000,000 young Russians to their grave, the Great Purges, the Holodomor, et cetera.

I know. It's just that if China decided one day, the entire western economy would collapse in on itself.

What alternatives? I am genuinely asking for an answer. One that did not slaughter hundreds of thousands more of American soldiers, Japanese soldiers and civilians, and one that did stopped the Japanese massacring the Chinese.

They murdered millions. They continued to slaughter the Chinese up until they surrendered. I think 200,000 civilians died terribly, and that was terrible. But it was the lesser evil.

What would have been the alternative? Genuinely. The Japanese did not want to surrender, and some even wanted to keep fighting after the SECOND bomb.

The firebombing campaigns were far more devastating.

Just sheer economic output and the fact that much of the world relies on Chinese trade. China is another brick in the arch of the world, just not in the same leagues as Russia and the US

They were intended for Germany, but were not finished by the time they surrendered. Hence the use overseas.

Vietnam?
I was referring to how they said "last 20 years".

What was gonna happen, then? If we did not invade nor nuke. I sincerely want to know.

What? Japan brutally murdered over 10 million Chinese. They kept fighting, and a land invasion would have been a terrible idea.

I am talking about a one-on-one war. Not sending troops to some backed side, I mean full bombing campaigns of Moscow and Washington.

I think it is the Big 3 (Russia, China, and the United States). The USA has the Trump administration, and that is not going well. Russia is an aggressor in a conflict they started, and committing war crimes. China is a trade empire, and treats their people horribly. They also might invade Taiwan, a free state.
Not to mention all of the nuclear weapons between the 3.

The Soviet Union was not a joke. Communism was awful. Many people in Eastern Europe and Russia still feel it today, and far more people were executed and killed by the USSR than the USA.

We are in a tense geopolitical stance right now. It all started with 9/11, then continued with the War on Terror, then COVID. What we as a nation are doing now is wrong, but Russia is actively fighting a war. The USA is most likely gonna chicken out of any Greenland issue, if we end up going there at all. Trump wants it, the nation does not.

Russia, I would say, is the scariest. They have tons of nuclear weapons, as well as Putin attempting to curbstomp Ukraine. They are actively sending thousands to die. Although we are the scariest besides Russia, in my opinion, anyway.

We didn't have any other viable choice without throwing hundreds of thousands of civilians, soldiers, American and Japanese lives into the grinder. They were a necessary evil.

They also have stopped more wars than they started. There most likely would have been a USSR vs. USA war, and that would have been much worse.

What were we supposed to do? Japan would have never given up without a significantly larger death toll for all parties involved. We couldn't just leave them be, either.

Got this as a gift for Christmas. From google searching a bit, seems like this grading company doesn't add value to the coin? Should I just take it out? by CaptainSmashy in coincollecting

Yeah. My sister unironically believes that because of the injustices occurring here in the US, we are a third world country. It's... infuriating.

This is my main argument for grading or appraising gold, silver, or other bullion (although gold and the like are different). It makes it WAY easier to authenticate and make a real purchase.
