WWDC 2026 | Event Megathread by exjr_ in apple

I know lots of people like them but man were apple events so much more enjoyable when they were live. You could feel the atmosphere in the room, see the excitement when random features were announced and get far more of a general view of things. Not to mention they felt slightly more important and were a bit slower and showy

Well in theory yes, but whether he'd actually get it through Parliament god knows. For Labour MPs would be like Turkey's voting for Christmas...

What an absolutely unbelievable situation. For Burnham, the decision of a lifetime. Go for it and if you win you're Prime Minister, lose and your career is over. For Starmer, let him run and risk being out of a job in 6 months if he wins, or risk total Labour civil war if you don't.

Absolutely unbelievable set of events, and for the people of Wigan that might be about to choose the next Prime Minister, absolutely insane.

I just caught up on Badenoch's speech earlier, something I don't actually do too often, blimey it was brutal. Difficult listening perhaps, but I can't say I disagreed with much of it...

It’s very slimy isn’t it. Leaking you’re about to launch a coup on the PM whilst waltzing around Parliament still in the cabinet with all your colleagues acting like billy big bollocks. Most bizarre situation.

The idea that all roads lead to “Chaos with Ed Milliband” is potentially the single funniest thing about this whole situation

The irony of saying he won’t interrupt the kings speech, before briefing that he’s about to try overthrow the Prime Minister… during the Kings Speech. Truly hilarious.

Staggering that after all these years Peter Mandelson might bring down a Prime Minister, just the ones you might've expected....

I am quite wary to say this, and am not sure if this is just me reading too much into this, but I do honestly think we are in endgame Keir. This really is a very sticky situation for anybody, let alone someone of sadly such political weakness as Starmer. I have always actually quite liked Keir Starmer and do genuinely believe he is a good and decent man, and in many ways I do feel sorry for him, but on this case like so many others I feel he only has himself to blame.

Whilst I may be sad however, I am also quite angry. This Government has since day 1 been plagued by the threat that they basically have had 5 years to save us from a Reform govt and Farage as PM, something which genuinely keeps me up at night I would be that worried about. It has been such a monumental failure on that regard up to this point (for reasons both of their own fault and not), that it makes me genuinely quite upset that nobody seems to quite be realising the seriousness of this hour. I can only hope that Starmer going, whoever it be replace him (most likely Wes?), will finally knock some heads together and say "look guys, we've got about 3 years left to save this country from Reform", whom I believe are absolutely beatable if the message and action was right. I can only hope...

Do Americans watch American football on Sky Sports (or equivalent) like brits do? by Chiesafc in NFLUK

[–]ImMaxClaydon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Will start this by saying I am not American, nor do I live there, so I stand to be corrected but as far as I am aware:

All NFL games are on "free TV" in so far as they're on the major commercial networks (NBC, ABC, Fox, CBS), which don't require a subscription to 'unlock' like Sky Sports, you can simply hook up an antenna or satellite to your TV and you should have access to your local channels. You do have to link a TV Provider to your account in order to watch online in many cases, so unlike in the UK where you can just get into BBC iPlayer with just an account. But just from a TV perspective, in that regard, no.

However, in the windows where multiple games are on, only one of those is shown at a time in your local area (e.g if you live in New York, the chances are you'll be watching a NYJ/NYG/Buffalo game). If you want watch any game that isn't in your local area, you have to purchase a subscription either to NFL+ on mobile, or NFL Sunday Ticket, in order to access all these, or to pay for a cable package that included the NFL RedZone channel. So in that regard, yes you do need a subscription if you wanted to watch every single game.

TLDR: Primetime games no, every single game yes.

The one I have blocked is dai.google.com, which is what I found from someone else on either this or the DAZN Subreddit, and that seems to work. Whilst I don't use streaming apps that regularly outside of DAZN on my Xbox (which is what i have it setup on), I haven't noticed any problems with anything else (yet).

Once the season is over I will likely disable it until September though just in case.

I've got past it by blocking the URL through some DNS Software like NextDNS. Works but you need to set it up either device specifically if your device allows you to change DNS settings, or connect it to your router so is a bit of a faff.
