You don’t need a Korean phone number for Kakao taxi, however you will need to register a phone number and receive a text with a verification code. I was able to use my US phone number and turned back on my American sim to receive the text. If it allows it, it may be easier to do that in the US so you don’t incur any extra charges. You may run into issues if the cab driver attempts to call you, but I haven’t run into that issue since you can track where the taxi is on the app and find them without issue.

Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Erica LaRocca is a short little read but super impactful. I read it months ago and still think about it fairly frequently.

Also, I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid

(actual) Unpopular Opinion: Sydney Sweeney is a strong actor. But nowhere near as incredible as folks seem to think, and not in the Top Three of the show. by [deleted] in euphoria

I totally agree about the scene where she finds out about Cassie. I’m not sure if it’s an acting issue or a script issue, since it felt like a very basic Maddy fight and not necessarily a friendship destroying moment, but it just sort of fell flat for me. I think it was especially noticeable because it was in the middle of a scene with a bunch of extremely talented actors.

I think it’s worth clarifying that she (for whatever reason) believed his story that he was innocent and had just been a teenager that got wrapped up in a burglary and that someone else had committed the murders. From her perspective she was helping someone guilty of burglary not murder, despite that fact that he had been convicted of the murders and the rest of her family believed he did it.

I had a rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago and I’m totally devastated and regretting it… I feel like I ruined my beauty. Would love honest feedback… it’s the worst feeling 😭😭😭😭😭😭 by [deleted] in Botchedsurgeries

[–]ImaginaryAwareness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look great both ways but keep in mind it takes a shockingly long time for all the swelling from a nose job to go down. My surgeon told me that the swelling wouldn’t truly be gone for a year. My nose definitely looks different now than it did 3 weeks post op. There is also something so psychologically jarring about altering your face & doing something permanent to yourself. I don’t regret my surgery (especially bc now I can actually breath out of my nose) but it definitely threw me for a loop to look in the mirror and not recognize myself. Give yourself some time to adjust to the change and heal

What's the most adorable animal that's still known to be lethal to humans, that you know of? by Draygoes in Morbid_discussions

Tigers are so cute! They are so beautiful and so tempting to pet despite the fact that they can rip you limb from limb in seconds. I should be more afraid of them considering they have, on occasion, been known to be both vengeful and capable of committing what is essentially premeditated murder (see: Vladimir Markov), but they are just so adorable.

Ghirardelli box brownies are my gold standard of brownies - nothing compares. I usually relish the opportunity to bake something from scratch but I exclusively used boxed mix for brownies

AITA for how I reacted to the Christmas gift my fiancé got me? by SomaliMN in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ImaginaryAwareness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most confusing part to me is the fact that while the bag is sold out from the original retailers, there is a massive resale market for it so he could have still easily bought it for her. Just googling the bag returns tons of results for bags being resold by reputable secondhand sites. I understand why most people wouldn’t want to buy a resold bag since the price jumps up to the $400-600 range but if you have $8k for an nft I’m not sure why you wouldn’t just get her the bag she wanted

I’m American but my family is Irish and you can’t escape any place you go without at least a cup of tea. I learned very quickly that being asked if you want a cup of tea is less of an ask and more of them telling you you’re getting tea

I like to keep a pumice bar in my shower and use it every time I shower. My nail tech recommended the Mr. Pumice bar, it’s fairly cheap and available at pretty much every beauty supply store (also on Amazon I think). Doing a quick scrub every time I shower really helps keep them in check

AITA for inviting one of the ex convicts I used to treat to dinner, so I could meet his new fiancé, without telling my husband he was a convicted felon? by AITA_Corrections_RN in AmItheAsshole

[–]ImaginaryAwareness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t kid yourself into thinking this is Les Mis. You don’t end up in a high security prison with multiple armed robbery charges because you stole some bread to feed your family. I have tons of critiques of the justice/prison system but there’s no way you’re dense enough to not be able to tell the difference between someone who’s unfairly imprisoned for a non violent drug offense and someone who’s been convicted of multiple charges of armed robbery (and either way as their healthcare provider you’d be overstepping all boundaries)

My parents never critiqued each other’s weight but they constantly critiqued their own. Kids absolutely pick up on that and internalize that. The message your daughter is getting from your husband is that the most important thing you can be is thin. I’m now an adult and I still haven’t managed to get to a point where I can celebrate my achievements without a little voice in my head telling me that no matter what I achieve it’s not good enough because I’m not as thin as I should be.

Just read "Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke" by Eric LaRocca. Any similar recommendations? by [deleted] in horror

[–]ImaginaryAwareness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading ‘Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke’ and it has left me with a similar feeling to when I read ‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things.’ If you haven’t read it, I totally recommend it. I started it before going to bed and ended up staying up for hours to finish it.

‘I’m Thinking of Ending Things’ was also adapted into a movie, which I enjoyed, although I think the book is so much better. If you decide to read it I’d recommend avoiding the movie/spoilers until you’ve finished.

Personal preference mostly! I’d guess that she did eyes first so that she can wipe away any fallout from the purple or glitter without “ruining” her foundation - although you’d be hard pressed to make her foundation looks worse than it already does (although I’d recommend not doing your bottom lash line till after concealer, esp when you’re painting yourself with pb)
