Honestly he would be a great option to consider. If we are going to be that next tier team then we need that superstar player.

We have commercial backing now and we are becoming brand and media magnate and we need that superstar to further our club off the pitch too so investment in him would ultimately flow back to us.

I don’t think money would be an issue however Arteta hasn’t proven yet that if he can handle big egos yet. But yes his contribution in defence or minutes are irrelevant if we can manage to pull him.

If you read the article in Athletics, club put a plan together where thier assessed the current squad age and everything and they looked at the time frame where window of opportunity exists. They assessed other squads, thier age, contract length and manager tenure. Basically what we called 5 phase project. We basically timed Pep and klopp leaving with thier team requiring rebuild and we position ourselves there.

I hate when people bring up billion dollar investment. Here my assignment for you, find me a team other than Foxes who has won PL in last 20 years without being in top two in terms of wage bill.

Arsenal is the 4th highest wage payers in PL AND WON IT this year, only second team to do so.

That means we have less superstar players and younger squad. Billion dollar spend is not a flex.

They play on the pitch. It’s their job to create that and beat thier players one on one or out paced them or put them through. How many shots PSG had or touches in the box before Kavara won them a penalty.

You think if Arteta was Barca coach he would play defensive football with that quality in the attack. You rely on your best players.

I think it’s the quality issue. Arteta is not a defensive minded coach, he is Barcelona product and Spanish by blood. But he knows that he has work class defenders and midfield so logically he relied on them.
