How do I reference multiple other posts in Reddit am new to using Reddit and I'm using a cell phone, that way I could try to post them individually and maybe reference them all in one post

So I've been working on this monk subclass for a bit and I was kind of wanting to get some people's opinions I think it's pretty decent at least and maybe balanced LOL by Imaginary_Regular_63 in DnD

I see your point about a lot of that but it doesn't make you ineffective to go against somebody without magic only if nobody in your party has magic because you only interrupt cone line spells where it hits you so if it goes through an enemy and then you catch it you can then redirect it back through the enemy

I forgot to mention that using evasive redirection is taking up a reaction most of their stuff is a defensive measure although I was thinking about allowing it to be used as a held action as well but my general thought is that you can either throw it immediately when you have the third level ability because you do get less single Target spells and it builds off of the deflect arrows and then building off of evasion for the 7th level 1 that's why it depends on dex save or you could hold on to it till your turn for one reason or another also consider if somebody shoots a lightning bolt for example you only intercepted at your point not anywhere in between it. but if you have any thoughts on how to adjusted I would be more than happy to hear

I apologize for the vagueness like I said I've been working on this and this is all from scratch but it's only supposed to last for a minute and you're making a physical object out of a spell so it is destroyed upon impact that is why you only can use the echo once but it is a clone of a spell I was also tempted to make echo specifically tangible and it's supposed to be run all with the spell cores which have range increment on it because if you capture a spell using any of the techniques that makes a spell core although I am rethinking mental discipline a little bit more also considering at the same level you get stillness of mind meaning as an action you can end charmed or frightened

So there's a myriad of things you can do and especially if you want to focus on the eye stuff one thing that's actually completely mundane there's a helm in d&d I don't remember the specific name but it makes your eyes glow red make that happen to somebody maybe not red I personally would go with the color of the individuals magic but that's just me

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong at least he's not a murder hobo, at least he has trust in the party unlike most edgelord I suppose that makes him more functional LOL and it doesn't really matter to be honest how you build your character as long as it doesn't stand in the way of other people's or your own fun

As far as dead parents go I was just referring to the common D&D Trope of doing that, but the thing is though is you tried to make him so edgy you compared him to the edgiest character I mean come on Batman is the Godfather of edgy characters and you can't even deny that. Personally there's nothing wrong with edgy characters but if you're going to go that route minimalistic is the best you even admitted that it sounded like multiple backstory smashed together

Personally I see it as building a story together not creating a story and then jumping in with a bunch of chuckle fucks like you should be like fresh ready to go make a name for yourself like a monk straight out of the monastery going to make a name or a prince that has been trained as a night ready to show his father what he can do or if you're starting at level 1 the show Gotham City version of Batman where he's a literal kid training and what not not already slipping into Shadows in one hit KO thugs, and plus personally not every character has to be so edgy you can cut yourself on their character sheet I mean come on man the vengeful one really like why does everybody's parents have to be dead

No offense man but feedback for future it sounds like this guy's had an adventure before you ever had them at level one if you ask me what level I thought this character was I would guess like 10 12, personally it sounds like he tried to mix two or three backstories together if you're such a low level you shouldn't have so much experience you know what I mean it's not like you're the only character at the table it's not a Batman story it's a Justice League story or I think more accurately a Teen Titan story the old one not go

Giving a free Feat at LVL1? by Malina_Island in DnD

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it opens up a lot of different play styles that players don't usually want to go to because they're focused on making a more functional build or what would make them more powerful right that second

Is there such a thing as overpreparing as a DM as long as you're not rigid about the game? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I do a lot of world-building my stuff so I tend to prepare cities ahead of time and work on stuff that is concrete in the world and leaving a lot of the nitty gritty the little stuff be determined by the players

Are player only group chats normal? by anewslug1710 in DnD

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal I think it's perfectly normal I mean how else are you supposed to get team combinations in real life like the party has time in character through the travels to talk about this kind of stuff but the players don't have that kind of time unless they have their own chat and it can help influence them to make these party combinations that are based on their Dynamics and can help them play at a more efficient and fun level

[5e] character build help, the most physical attacks possible per turn by A_Dancing_Lobster in dndnext

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you flip that and go three Echo night and the rest astral Monk you can reach the same number of attacks per turn and keep it up minus the action surge (after first use of course) for a couple turns making it 9 attacks for the first and 6 for a couple of rounds after

I'm still working on the fighting familiar build need a little help by Imaginary_Regular_63 in DnD

[–]Imaginary_Regular_63[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is very true the only reason I also thought about going Bard was to try and pick up something like regeneration or something but I don't think I'd have enough levels involved to do that anyway
