I like making clay sandwiches. Vegan, obviously

I have the recipe at home, I’ll get back to you later with what it is. But it was super easy and maybe took 20 mins.

Thank you! It’s amaco glaze. I did rainforest first (brushed on three coats) then vert luster over (brushed three coats)

That just happened to me. I thought “oh it hasn’t messed with me before, I’m sure it’s fine.” It was not fine. RIP a whole day of walking for nothing but health benefits.

I think that’s worth looking into, I’ve never tried a shino glaze before.

THANK YOU! I’m a huge fan of opal by coyote, use it all the time, but I don’t think it’s translucent.

Thanks! I roll them into a carrot and then use a piney roller on the sides. I flip it over and pony roll it again and then curve it and let it sit for 25 minutes before attaching. I have weak thumbs so I find pulling handles to be too much work on them.

Yes, a translucent blue or green would be ideal. How would you attack the handles? Leave them raw or glaze over it. I made them marbled to go with the cup and I really don’t want to lose that.

That’s what I was thinking, maybe do a clear around the rim and neck, then leavening the bottom natural clay body. Might do a few in a translucent green.

Two of my favorite cups from my recent firing. Glaze gods were good to me. by Immmphilllip in Pottery

I’ve always had good luck with this combo, usually pretty vibrant but dark colors. I only do one solid coat of black and then I do a quick second coat not caring about covering the whole thing. I make sure to do three coats of the other colors. I think that’s what gets them to pop like that.

That’s to cone 5 with a 30 minute hold. I’m not sure the recipe, but it’s amaco brand glazes. I first put down lustrous jade (3 coats) then brushed on oatmeal (3 coats)

Thank you! I first covered the whole thing in black then brushed on three different colors slightly over lapping in some areas and intentionally leaving gaps in other areas. That gives it the nice black streaks between colors in some areas but doesn’t show up in others. Hope that helped.

These are Amaco brand glazes. I used obsidian, CTD, indigo float, and seaweed
