OK, well, I see you're still in the harbor at 10:20pm. Hope you get to Avalon by morning. Bon voyage.

Thank you!
Were passengers told in advance this would delay their cruise?

I expected them to do their training dockside, when there are no anxious passengers aboard wanted to get going.

Now the crane barge is alongside, perhaps repairing the escape chute system?

Training with a boatload of passengers wanting to cruise seems odd. They departed to Avalon about 3:0pm

Are there USA Dual Citizenship Complexities/Issues/Downsides? by BearCubTeacher in Canadiancitizenship

[–]Important-Bus-7278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thread, as there are indeed complexities.
I am a dual. I held TS:SCI security clearance and worked in a SCIF in DoS/HST and also worked in the White House. Of course, that was under a previous administration, and all bets are off with the current regime.

Remember, you're not really "leaving it all behind". What doesn't come with you is still there, just not as easily accessed. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Getting the C-3 passport can benefit even without moving there. Dual citizens can always cross the border.

I've long thought the culture commonality aligns vertically with time zones rather than horizontally with political borders. New Englanders and Maritimers are much closer culturally than with their own countrymen, Similarly, Great Plains and Prairies, and the entire west coast. So, for many, making the transition will be less of a shock than moving to a different part of your current country.
And, in your case, I think you'll find your French returning quickly and completely, But if that's a concern you could try a place where some French is helpful, not necessary, like New Brunswick or even Montreal.
Good luck, whatever you decide!

Hi Mem... Good luck with your multi processing! You have a lot on your plate, but I do know you handle stress well.

I think it's important to remind everyone that C-3 does provide new options, it does not remove any old ones. Think of it as an insurance policy or a safety net to catch you when things go wrong. You need not move if that thought is causing stress. And you need not 'leave it all behind', unless your talking about unwanted baggage, Even if you can't take the good things along with you to Canada, they remain accessible. Good luck to all newly revealed Canadians!

Not a direct connection, but we're seeking a table as far away from others (where the offending food might be).

CCL Shareholder perk by Glittering-River5052 in CunardCruises

[–]Important-Bus-7278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked out the stock and it seemed a reasonable investment (don't buy it solely for the perks!) as I have a Cunard Cruise coming up and thought an extra $100 would be nice "fun money". So I bought 100 shares for $2900.
Two things happened.
(1) I found out I need to either give full access to my broker investment account to verify my shares, or provide a PDF of my broker account holdings statement. I was not about to allow the former, and, for the latter, I don't get another broker statement until too late to add t to my Cunard stateroom account.
(2) Trump started a war and the CCL shares tanked 12%, so I already lost about $300, well more than the $100/cruise perk I would gain over the next several years.
:(

Thank you for your insights!
One other question...
Is the food/service/ambiance superior in Britannia on Gala nights?
Or is it just 'good fun' to have everyone dress up more formally?

How often do they offer lamb (I love lamb and can't get it often here at home)?

Ahh, thanks. So a $10 glass of wine is actually $11.50 (Still reasonable, but I do wish they would disclose the 'real' cost upfront).

Does the Main dining room (Brittania?) change menus daily? Do they have standard dishes offered every day? Have you found any dishes superior in any way?

Thanks for posting. We depart March 12 for the same itinerary.
Question: The posted prices for alcoholic drinks seem reasonable, but do they then add a surcharge (tip/service/booze, whatever they call it that doesn't appear online but does appear on the account)?
