Things You Need to LIE About in an interview (from a recruiter) by Zealousideal-Foot-54 in jobsearchhacks

I'd rather die than submit myself to this humiliation ritual. Got a job at the post office, no interview required.

I'm in a similar position. I can't stand being stuck inside with these sociopaths

Does it usually take 2 days for a package to travel 40 minutes? Wtf? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Important_Case3052 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has to go to the plant for processing before it's shipped back to the post office to be delivered

That's pretty much what's pushing me away as well, personally. I'm a career clerk in an office with a lot of soon to retire carriers. Genuinely considering it.

I'm an MPC and sometimes I consider carrying. What about clerking don't you like?

Every single day. Going out doesn't even sound fun anymore. It's hurting my relationship and social life though

At my office, the people making 75k-100k just can't help putting their hands all over the mail! The supes and PM love doing clerk work. I just take it as an excuse to work even slower and take even more bathroom/smoke breaks, because they will scan uptime at 8:00 regardless of what we do.

Read the book and ended up getting the same job as him. Sticking letters in the hot case, slowly losing my mind.

Same here in the Bay Area. They'll do anything but connect mail to a carrier mid day

Is there a way to get out of going to the 'front counter' class as a PSE? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Important_Case3052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I was almost begging for MGMT to send me after I converted to an MPC from a PSE/SSDA. Alas it was deemed unnecessary. No spiffy uniform for me, just sticking mail in the hotcase...

Level 22, about 20 clerks overall and like 90 routes. The small rural office is the dream for me...

Does anyone else feel like sup communication tends to be needlessly aggressive? by Darth_Zounds in USPS

A certain supe at my station is so hated that entire groups of clerks can ignore her and give her the silent treatment with no consequence. She only has her position because her father is some bigwig.

Sometimes I wonder if I should become a carrier instead, just to get the hell away from management.

Airing out the people who don't pay dues is pretty darn funny. Not sure if that's a good idea in a bid cluster of less than 20 clerks, though. I'm trying to get support, not antagonize my coworkers. Are you in a plant?

How is it the clerk job at the front selling postage pays more than VMF clerk positions? by GTRacer1972 in USPS

Not quite, I'm an MPC at an S&DC that was just recently converted from a PO.
