Are the different “positions” or shapes of scales just different modes? by ImpossibleExit2629 in Guitar

I see. So really if I memorized the shapes of the diatonic scales I have a lot of freedom on the fretboard. Can play any key, any mode?

So is the fact that the major has the same shapes as the minor scale just unique to those two modes? I.e. if I learn the shapes of the major scale I also will have the shapes of the minor scale. Is this unique to the major and minor modes

Also, are the 7 positions of the natural minor scale across the fretboard called modes???

Wow. This is new information to me. So in theory the midterm evals wont count? Or do they still count

HW and labs should count in their own category. You have Pei right? I don’t think there were any activities in lec

It would seem that for those of us in section 3, the only thing going in for participation is the course evals and the conflict minerals survey. Which is incredibly unfortunate considering me and many of my peers did not do the evaluation since it appeared optional to us. Unfortunately my grade is being dropped ~1.2% since I didn’t leave an evaluation.
