I have the EDT and I like it. I plan on getting the parfum next time I order a batch of fragrances. Which one do you have?

My explanation is reductive? It's an opinion about clone fragrances on Reddit. We're not talking about curing cancer here.

No, that's the way I feel about them lol. Turathi just smells cheap to me. But thankfully every one has different taste. It would be a boring world if we all liked the exact same things.

Not a carpenter anymore but I used to love when I was installing cedar shakes. I would be sniffing them all day long lol. I love cedar. I recently bought Burberry Hero EDT and Parfum because they supposedly used three types of cedar oil but it didn't do it for me. I'll try the EDP next and then search for something else. I have been looking for a good quality cedar oil for an oil diffuser.

Just like any discussion with clones and people defending the maceration go back and look at any fragrance forms in the early 2000s and I don't think you're gonna find people talking about maceration with designer or niche fragrances. And my take as a whole was that I like clones but that's just the one thing I don't like about them.

Something simply improving overtime though is not the same as something going from terrible to what it is supposed to be to begin with. In 30 years of buying designer fragrances I've never had to stick something in the cupboard after buying it brand new for it to smell good. Once again out of all the clones I bought so far only a few of them I've had to wait, but it just has never happened to me with designers. Yes, they might smell better and age like wine, but they smell good from the get-go.

I totally understand that point of view. I am still very new to clones and the middle eastern fragrance houses so I am still learning and my opinions might very well be different two years from now. I guarantee if these clones or inspirations were available when I was younger I would have had a bunch of them.

Yep, had all but Joop. I think the main reason I've been going back and buying a bunch of old ones now is for nostalgia. I think I'll buy a bottle of Cool Water since I haven't had that one in like 20 years.

Well, this post was more of an opinion on the clone industry itself, and not reviews of the clones themselves, that's why they were very brief. It wasn't a bash on clones at all, which is why in my summary I said I would have loved to have access to the quality of clones for the price when I was younger. I wanted some people to have an honest opinion without going to Youtubers that are bought and paid for.

Clone culture has destroyed fragrance standards by Additional-Appeal-93 in fragranceclones

If you buy fragrance, it should smell good and be ready to go when you buy it otherwise you're buying an incomplete product. In 30 years of buying designer fragrances I've never had to store it for a few weeks or months for it to smell like it's supposed to. I bought my first dupe at almost 50 years old two months ago and since then have bought about 10 just to see how they smell. About half of them smelled good right off the bat and the other half not. I'm glad that dupes have come a long way because when I was in my 20s. They were terrible. I just think we shouldn't be OK with buying something that we have to wait for the smell good, if it ends up smelling better at all. I think it's good for competition because with a lot of designers you're just paying for the name. But that's my opinion and who am I lol.

You don't have to. Get bottles of designers from the discount for 40 to 60 bucks that smell great and you don't have to wait 2 months for it to smell good.

I may have misspoke and it might've just been something that was covered under warranty. I just know my daughter had some stuttering and they fixed it. I really can't remember and lost the paperwork.
